Greatest Creative Moment You've Had?
Time alone on week-end retreats. Sketching, taking pictures, counting stars, watching a veil of mist dance over a bluish green lake before dawn. Listening to the quiet, gathering stones, watching embers burn in a stone fireplace, alone.
What's Your Biggest Creative Dream?
I would like to have my writing published in book form. Right now I am treading water, trying to find my way back, to being creative once more. Reality has taken a bite out of mE. I feel scattered, unsure. I want to feel mE again, then share it with everyone through writing, photography, and art.

Almost time.......

Hi everyone: Just stopping by to say I am almost ready for my adventure on a train to Virginia. Please take care while I am away. Be good to yourselves as well as all around you. It was a bittersweet week here this past week. Lots of family issues going on, stressing everyone out. I was able to get together with my daughters for a delicious afternnon lunch with laughter and a few tears. It was good to be with my girls while they enjoyed each other's company like old times. I shopped a little for… Continue

School days.......

"Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong. Sometime in life you will have been all of these." - Dandy Lion Over time, I have learned each lesson to be true in the above quote throughout my life. Living is never about learning one lesson then school is dismissed. We learn, process and discover before we are born. Learning is an ongoing experience each and every day. Admittedly not everyone shows up for… Continue

William Wordsworth, poet.......

Hello again: I find opening a book of poetry much like visitng an old friend. This happens to be one of my favorites. Please enjoy, along with mE on this Saturday morning in August, long after Daffodils have blossomed in spring on a far-away hillside. I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuou… Continue

Independence.......

I am currently working on becoming independant of the person I was this past year. I am not at all sure I even knew who she was most of the time. One minute she was a friend while the next she became my worst enemy. I am not sure if I wallowed in self pity to punish myself because I "could have, would have and should have" done more. There does come a time when getting on with it becomes necessary if we are to go on living our lives. The person I see in the mirror now has aged with a look of sad… Continue

Aging Time.......

When I was a child I had dreams of wanting to be, much like any other child my age. I felt nothing could stand in my way, especialy when I "wished upon a star." It's possible I escaped into way too many movies where most of the time everyone lived happily ever after. Even my girl Lassie overcame being lost, afraid lonely and hungry. In my mind, when others my age were dreaming of becoming movie stars, I was painting my way into the hearts of art lovers. I was trail blazing the Yukon or discoveri… Continue

Hi Detta:
Sorry about not answering sooner but time has a way of moving along without mE on occasion. I would prefer to have you e-mail mE your questions. That way I can think about my response more clearly. Thank you so much again.
I have seen the Mama Mia film advertised and have always admired Meryl Streep. She has a gift much like my beloved Kate Hepburn in my opinion. I am not a movie goer due to the inconvenience of being handicapped. Once it is out on DVD I will be in line for my copy.
I am not shutting down until the 17th, a day before my trip, so I will be here to answer your questions before or after I return the 29th. The excitemnet is building about visitng someone I met online and have never hugged. My daughter, who is going with mE to help, is as excited as my friend & I are.
Take care heart. More later
(((hugs)))

Hi Susan:
I have your letter written & will mail it as soon as I can find my way to the post-office. I hope your writer's readings were enjoyable, Can't wait for you to share how your writing group went. Just another quiet week-end here with alot of showers which we can always use.
Hurricanes never bothered mE that much until Katrina came calling. The damage she left behind was unreal especially in the New Orleans area. I stayed at my daughter's for that one but doubt I will ever stay for another one predicted to be like her.
Weather is no longer the way it once was since I have gotten older. Take care my friend & enjoy your day.
Blessings,
Barbara

Barbara, I don't like the idea of having to watch out for hurricanes. I have a friend who lives in tornado alley and that would be bad enough as well. I have lived where we had bush fires and I had to move back to the suburbs as I got too scared.
I am going to a writers reading afternoon where the writers read out their work. i hope it is good. Tomorrow I go to my writers group and I will share my latest writing.
I am glad you are enjoying outings and having a good time. You are in my prayers.
