Morning doodles

Hi there fellow doodlers!
Something amazing happened today, I finally broke the ice with my zendoodles. For the first time I had the sense that my left brain was not controlling or censoring my hand much.
This morning I did four zendoodles before getting out of bed, and I numbered them because I think it shows how the shift happened as I went along. I definitely felt it!

For #1, I drew the main lines, and then just filled in. Those first lines controlled the rest of the process, with little room for surprises along the way. It bored me a bit, and it looks uninteresting to me.
#2, I started in the middle of the square, and let it grow outwards, with a more scribbly sketchy style. Much less cotrolled process, and more interesting.
#3, I was totally relaxed and it felt like a really pure drawing.
#4, totally relaxed again but spent some more time exploring the shapes and lines.

I want to make doodles every morning. Writing morning pages doesn´t work for me, but doodling might be a good alternative!

P.S. Why are there Scientology ads all over this group? This is the Zentology cult.

Heidi these morning doodles are great. I love the way they flow. So far all of mine have been very square in nature. I am going to have to give sguiggly a try!! TFS!!

Melissac, I have the opposite...I tend to resist angly things, so maybe I need to experiment with that !

What is TFS? : )

I like curvy better myself. Even where I grew up there were a lot of hills so the land was not sectioned off in a grid, but a twisty turney hodgepodge. This is where I learned to navagate, so when I get to logically laid out towns based on grids I am lost.
I believe this influences my preference...I can still feel lost in squares and angles

Hmmm...so maybe environment has some influence over our doodlezanging preferences? Um-huh...good food for thought, Jules!

Melissac, do you spend a lot of your time in a town or city?

TFS, Jules! : )

Melissa, Jules, Dabs, it is interesting what you say about angles and curves. I think I am a curvophile myself!
The times I have lost my way in cities have not been in tangled little streets but in places with parallel streets and cross sections. Places you´d think would be easy to navigate in. I once visited NYC and you can imagine how that went, lol!

Heidi, I have often wondered about me going somewhere huge like NYC or Chicago...I think it might overwhelm me. I have been to the Chicago Art Museum- but the amtrac stops underneath so I do not have to go up into the grid of buildings.

It just feels so good in the hand to draw a curvey!

Sweeeet! Love the last one ... in my mind it looks like spiral galaxies, cuddling up to each other for a little tete a tete! If you look very closely you can see me on the arm of the Milky Way, waving HI!

Gosh, Heidi...there is something so sublime about your doodangles! They all seem to be floating in space in very beautiful and unusual ways! Keep going, girl! Everytime I look at your doodles, I am awed by their beauty!

Which one was your favorite one to do? Your favorite result?

Hi Camille, I don´t think I can answer your question of a favourite. Each one is different to do and to look at, and new ones keep coming. This past week I have done so many, it´s turning into a Doodlapaloozza tour!

Here I tried some bigger shapes.

Thursday Night Symmetry. This felt so good in the hand that I kept on repeating the same shape.

Then a bit of change for the weekend

For yesterday and today´s doodangles, I did a Scentangle for Songs of the Senses
