What does imagination mean to you?

What's the difference between imagination and creativity?

Can we be imaginative but not creative, or vice versa?

Ahhh! Jenny! Now that is a word that is fun on the English tongue! Lanterfanten...a word worthy of entry into our CCS Weird Words Dictionary...: )

Hey, Jenny! Ritselkever-trend! Is that what describes your blotches, stains, and ink spilling process? I love that idea!

Since joining CCS, I am not at a loss for recieving inspiration, imaginative thought or creative process, but if that happens, I will try this process...which used to be my mode of painting...finding images within the drips, etc. But using Michelle's Cassou's intuitive painting process change my mode of creating images in paint...but I look forward to doing the waterdoodles to exercise this part of me that loves that process too!

I like to be called Dabs, but whateverr you prefer is fine...when I signed up at NING/CCS, I made up a user name,
"DabLaurette"...CCS people immediately shortened that to Dabs and it stuck. One day I got confused with the registration and for NING/CSS and somehow, my real name, Camille showed up at CCS...I do not know how to change it, but I adore being called Dabs!!!

And so Dabs it will be! I'm very curious about what you write about intuitive painting Dabs. Will look up Michelle Cassou on the Internet and hope she's written about her method?

And 'wandering around' on CSS I found more people with a love for new words and sounds. Thank you for the link because I 'had not been there' before.

Would love to see what sort of things you paint. Will have a look at your page to see if you have some photo's there.

Don't you me lanterfantering around on CCS? : )

Yes, Michelle Cassou has a site and some books...easy to find...

Love Dabs

Found Michelle Cassou and immediately ordered her book about Passion, Painting and something else that I forgot...
Never heard of her before but so recognised what she writes about enjoying the proces and not worry about the product..
So lanterfantering = moodling, Jen?

Did you enter it in the CCS Weird Words Dictionary? If not, please do...we love word play around here!

Jenny, that is an aspect of imagination/creativity that did not occur to me! Thanks for bringing that to the table!

I am being creative when I do my knitting following a pattern and my cross stitch with a pattern but I'm not using my imagination.

Could it be that while you are knitting and stitching, Susan, that you are subconsciously or consciously using your imagination to fill the well", so that more doodles, etc will eventually come to the fore?

Reply to This

Good question Camille. When your hands are busy knitting Susan, does your mind wander to other things or are you concentrating completely on the knitting?

Reply to This

I usually watch TV when I knit and am absorbed with the program and the knitting or cross stitch is in the back ground. If I am quiet my mind is off on it's busy little journey of discovery and imagination I guess

Imagination is watching one child play with a toy.

Creativity is watching two children figure out how to play with that toy.
