Space Weather News for Jan. 23, 2007
http://spaceweather.com

SOLAR ECLIPSE: On Monday, Jan. 26th, the Moon will pass in front of the sun producing an annular "ring of fire" eclipse. This is not a total eclipse; the Moon will cover only 93% of the sun's surface. Nevertheless, the Moon's dead-center transit across the solar disk will produce a sight of rare beauty for observers along the "path of annularity." Best views are to be had from islands in Indonesia where the ring of fire will appear to sink into the ocean at sunset. Meanwhile, in Australia, southeast Asia, southern parts of India and South Africa, observers will experience an off-center partial eclipse. Crescent-shaped sunbeams will dapple the ground while high overhead the Moon takes a curved bite out of the sun.

Please visit http://spaceweather.com for eclipse maps, timetables and photos.

BLUE-SKY FIREBALL: Last week a meteoroid of unknown size hit Earth's atmosphere over Denmark and exploded with a flash so bright it turned the nighttime sky daytime blue. A video of the remarkable fireball and eye-witness reports may be found at Spaceweather's fireball sighting page: http://spaceweather.com/glossary/fireballreports_17jan09.htm

Hi Doreen, I enjoyed visiting your blogsites... Love your spirited murals and photos too. That tree man/body is fabulous... reminded me of a photo taken last summer, now I'll have to find it and post it.. Tree forms can be so reminiscent of the human form.
Peace...

Hey Doreen!
The RWB guitar was a black ink doodle I did just before Independence Day, and colored in with fill tool on the computer ... thanks for the comments :) I did use it as my icon for a while here ... I'm an incorrigable icon changer ... LOL

Hi Doreen!
The sunset photos are just on Auto with no flash, using different zooms. I have Nikon Coolpix 4500 and haven't really gotten into using the exposures or other settings a lot. Bought it for taking photos of my bead work when I was doing ebay, and learning to use it for other types of photography has been a whole new deal ... guess I really should study the book some more! It's 4.0 megapixels and I hear that now you can get phones with 5.0 ... that's technology for ya, out of date soon after you spend your megabucks on it ... LOL

Namaste Doreen:
I much appreciate your reply to my recent post. Knitting these precious baby caps has given mE something back I seemed to have lost along my way. I am picturing these children in their mother's arms connecting to each stitch as if I were the one holding them. Just to know I am giving something from the heart cannot be explained with words.
I was and have been lost for awhile now. At last I am able to recognize mE once more even though I have been right here waiting to be found all along.......

Blessings,
Zingara/Barbara

OMG Doreen, your photos are just awesome! Kudos to you for your highly creative spirit...I am so impressed, you have some amazing shots on your page...

I can see I have to get back into drawing mandalas on paper- there is so much more the 'human' element...may be a good place for me to start, back with the black and white...thinking about it, I love your white on blacks too- I just gotta buy me a white gel pen and some black paper!!!

I'm so lifted by your mandalas, Doreen! Every one of them is beautiful. I tried out the silver gel pen on black this morning ... some of my lines were kinda wavy and I smeared it in a few places ... but it still looks so kewl! Will uplad a pic here and at Mandala Oasis today. May play with it digitally too :)

Have a great weekend!

Two of a few mandalas I did on vacation.
Very centering. I need to remember "shut the tv off and go create...."
One thing I noticed was the white pens stay wet a bit longer than the other gel pens. I love how opaque they are.
I'm back. Revitalized and ready to have myself a very creative year.
