Richard Shilling is a self taught land artist living and working in Lancaster in the North West of England. Currently he is artist in residence at Beacon Fell Country Park. I find the more I look at his work the more captivated I become.

I love the second one! The old mossy tree behind it is a perfect backdrop. The first one is amazing. I didn't realize it was an ice spiraL at first. Thanks for posting Jules. There are so many wonderful Goldsworthy books out and I've been contemplating ordering one of them for the past year... but which one ??

Oh, these works of Richard Shilling are beautiful. Thanks, Robyn! I was also thrilled to read your blog post on hands. I was just thinking last night of a project I made in a sculpture class that I was pleased with, and it had numerous hands in it. I don't know what ever happened to that piece. I'm feeling the stirrings of a desire to create another :)
