I don't see any way to respond to questions, so I will answer the questions I have been asked here.
I work primarily in acrylics but also pencil, watercolours, and oils. Most of my work is between 6"X6" to 30"x20" with the exception of Earth Mother which is 40"x30". I also paint scenic drops for the theatre and those are up to 60'x25' (very big paintings!!!)
The black and white picture, Women's World is a pencil drawing of a collage which I pieced together. It is 24"x20". It was a art class project which I really enjoyed. The only parameters where that the whole collage had to be black and white graphic images, subject of our choice and then the completed collage was to be rendered in pencil only. It was an interesting challenge which my husband had the gaul to tell me wasn't art because it was just a 'copy' of the collage (which he did consider 'art'). I had a bit of a battle with him over that one. He now admits that a pencil rendering, no matter how accurate a 'copy' is in fact an artistic interpretation of the original and a piece of art in its own right. Yeah!! That drawing took me many many hours of intense labour to get it just right. I like it;-)
As for the contents, I think it is fairly self explanatory. I found beautiful and varied images of women and some things which 'this woman' is interested in and played around with the shapes and created an interesting balance (at least I think so;-) )
Hopefully that answers the questions. Feel free to ask or comment about anything else you see. I hope to get a second senses project piece done this coming week.
Cheers,
Nancy
