I've been lurking for the last week and am impressed by how active and interesting this network is. It's going to take me weeks to look into every corner that intrigues me at first glance! I'm looking forward to it.

I'm a product development chemist during the day. I'm a new mother - my daughter was born on Christmas Eve 2007. I read voraciously, going through phases of themes. Lately a lot of it has been business related as I'm an MBA student. I'll be halfway done in just a few weeks.

In 2004 I finally realized I didn't need to draw realistically to create original art - and then discovered ATCs. My artistic journey has been all over the place since then. I had cross-stitched for years and added various other needlearts to my skills. I've collaged and painted and doodled and blogged, always about art and sometimes about other things. I've created and traded many many many ATCs. I've sold works on Etsy and exhibited in juried shows.

Everything's going more slowly of late, because of all the demands on my time, but I'm still creating and doing so is one of the best parts of my day, whatever the medium.

Hi Beth,

Slink out of the shadows and dive into some of the groups. We're a pretty friendly bunch. I'm in the ATC group but I'm new to ATC's -but love them already. I'm in lots of other groups as well, so we may run into one another from time to time. Congrats on the 1/2 MBA and the new baby, both major accomplishments!

Welcome, Beth! Your life sounds horrendously busy -- good luck with your MBA, but mostly I encourage you to love that baby every second you can. Before you know it, she'll be bounding down the street independently.

I'm glad you love ATCs. Since joining CCS, making ATC cards has become one of my favorite things. I've also discovered inchies - 1X1 little works of art. They are so much fun. Check out Florabelle's for some fun and different discussions.

You sound like many of us here in that you have multiple creative outlets. We have an ATC Swap group here too you might want to check out, we just completed a Spring Mega Swap a couple of weeks ago.
