My forgotten mural

I went to my 30th class reunion yesterday. While reconnecting with a friend with whom I had lost contact she asked "Do you think our mural is still here?". I had forgotten all about it!! Since we were at the school we snuck down the hall to the Government room and went in...Sure enough, there stood out Lady Liberty, big as life! Signed by us and dated 1979. This is not a good picture- I am waiting for Donna to send the pic her hubby took of us both with her.

Some oil atc's- my furnieces

I normally do not do paintings of people of pets- two things happened about the same time. First I found this quote by Salvador Dali "The reason that some portraits don't look true to life is that some people make no effort to resemble their pictures". Second -I painted some pictures of my sister's dogs- Thelma and Louise, who she has had for 12 or so years. Then a third thing happened. I finished the paintings and decided to give them to my sister, but Louise is not longer alive. My gu… Continue

First puplic appearence

Charcoal portriat 28"x34" A few years ago at Christmas time I was very broke and could not afford to buy much in the way of gifts. I decided to do a portrait of Tim's deceased father to give him as a gift. . I had never met the man, as he had passed away before Ti… Continue

geocaching...

I got to play this game today when I stumbled upon a cache while mushroom hunting. I have seen blurbs about this on the news from time to time and it looks like fun. For those who do not know I believe it is world wide- people stash something outdoors and put the GPS coordinates on the web site and others must locate it with their own GPS. This one I found in a state park. I was mushroom hunting and saw a bit of red- thinking it was garbage and how rotten people were who threw garbage out into t… Continue

What do trees, roots, hurricanes and far away galaxies have in common?

I have been looking into naturally occurring patterns in nature for my doodling and thirty-days of creating. I have posted this tree elsewhere but am putting it here along with a few other photos so I can show the answer to the question-what do they have in common? Here is the tree- and a picture of some roots I discovered on the ground- the picture is a little blurry, but it is the only one I have and I can't remember where it was to get another

changing season

I do not consider myself a poet- I wrote this today and have decided to post it. I hope some of you CCS word smiths will pass by and let me know what you think. Here is the background - or inspiration- for the poem I had a favorite little woods located between a local community college and a warehouse. This jewel of a place poivided me hours of serenity and sacks full of morels. When I got there today I found the entire section flattened to accomidate a parking lot. The saddest thing of all wa… Continue

Thinking Spring Flowers and getting Ice Showers

I posted some glittery treetop pictures in this blog but they were so large they overwhelmed the screen and were distorted so I took them off and put them in my album if you want to go peek. I will have to experiment and convert my files to something smaller and see if that makes any difference. I am eagerly waiting for Spring. We have had a few nice days, but you know how that goes- I want more. Instead of crocuses I woke to ice in the trees. It was a beautiful sight to see-as much as I hate t… Continue

Wanna be Word Collages

I was informed last week that my assistance was needed with running a workshop at my yearly up-comming retreat. I have run some in the past, but have always known a year in advance. With just two weeks to prepare I did not know what project to do.

Inspired by Claude Aimee's word collages I thought that would be good, except I haven't done it yet myself. So I set out to see how long I would need to do one. I had a book that I was gi… Continue

Glitter Dance : The Honored Promise

Not being sure where this would fit in the best, it has become a blog so I do not have to worry about it. Due in part to my recent activity here, some thought provoking responses, and a desire to become whole I took my artist child out for a glitter dance last night!

Getting ready for this dance, I remembered several tubes of glitter in my craft stash I have been

ATC's yes. Pictures or album I am not quite sure

I am adding an album. Or am I adding pictures? I am not sure. I think I did both. Nothing like a little confusion. :-) I have always used a picture hosting site in the past. ALL the pictures are ATC's, but they have been previously posted elsewhere so are not eligable for the CCS swap. (the five for that are all new!) I just wanted to get some of my work out here because I have been looking at some of the pictures you all have shared. It just happens that ATC have been my thing lately :-) Oop

My first blog- ever!

Well, here I am, posting my first blog. I feel so grown up! I am 25 with 21 years of experience, so it is about time I feel grown up. lol

I am not even sure how to blog, but I decided to approach it the same way as I did my first journal - and that is to just start. Hopefully, if I do something terribly wrong, someone will offer the corrective criticism necessary to help me learn.

The computer and internet are new tools for me. I thought all I needed was my little crafting space
