Mary sent me a luscious link about mandalas, which have fascinated me from my earliest days. Not only do they speak to me spiritually, they are beautiful works of art as well. Here's the link: http://sacred-circle-mandalas.blogspot.com/ and there is a related link from the page
here about which I'll speak later. And Barb created a lovely mandala for Becca to take with her to the hospital.
I've written about mandala…

My dear friend Becca could use some of our fantastic CCS support. She learned today she will be facing heart surgery in the very near future, to replace her aortic valve. She will be seeing doctors tomorrow for more details. Please lift her up in prayer and send healing energies her way. Thank you.

The Big Dump
“Hi Ima.” Dear God in heaven, are you kidding me? Don’t tell me, let me guess? I get to listen to you complain about this for the umpteenth time.
“Yeah I heard from Dave.” And Sarah. And Paul, Melissa, and Carmen. Probably from the check-out lady at the grocery store too. Hell, it’s probably on the five o’clock news by now.
“Sorry about that.” Not really though. You did this to yourself by taking the jerk back after he tap-danced on your emotional well-being the first time…

Once upon a time there was a woman who was not very wise. Before she went to sleep one crisp autumn night, she asked her spirit helpers to send her a totem in her dreams, since she had heard about totems and that they were useful to people, so she wanted one for her very own self. She fell in the deepest of sleeps and awoke in the light of dawn with a start, sitting up in the bed, saying "A tortoise? My totem is a tortoise? I don't believe it!"
The silly woman had been expecting somethi…

My teeth pierce the shiny red skin and sink into the crisp white flesh,
droplets of sweetness escaping the corners of my mouth but soon rescued
by the tip of my tongue. I relish the sound of the crunch for it means
perfect ripeness and freshness. The aroma is delectable, that
apple-scent that conjures up more scents like cinnamon and even more
exotic spices like nutmeg and allspice. My wrist rotates the fruit to
keep it in contact with my nibbling teeth, and all too soon nothing is
left but a sa…
