We Are What We Grow

The Herb Garden

The Herb Garden is where we nurture the ancient knowledge passed down to us through the ages. It is the garden of the curandero or curandera (healer) as well as the secret resource of the gourmet cook. Here there are to be found a hundred different tiny flowers and aromatic smells which have been used throughout the ages as medicine – sometimes tasting very bitter but always curative – as well as

CLEARED SPACE - Why Emptiness Allows Growth

"If all space were filled with matter, nothing could move… A type of space can also be filled with all the assumptions you have made in your life. If you go back and remember how your structure of understanding (of what is going on in this world) was built, and how those assumptions have affected your life, you see that a different set of assumptions would have led to a very different life. Fabulous poem! I really got lost in the story of that chair. I especially like the bit where your friend spins you round in it.

An Idea for 2010

It's looking good Lotus! I love the woman with all the tatoos! Did you draw her? I'm just finishing a journal I had hanging about for a couple of years (yes, I'm serious about this finishing thing!)…

Undoing some U-turns!

Julia Cameron talks in The Artist's Way about U-turns or times in our lives when we buck at a difficult fence and instead of picking ourselves up and trying again, we stay lying down on the grass feigning incapacity to continue.

Like most people I have had my share of those… Continue

Your art work is just beautiful. And how cool to live in Spain!! As a former dancer, I tell myself I want to one day, even if I am a tiny little- old -grayhaired-woman, I want to learn flamenco dance. My mother's biological father's name was Fagalde, which we know has its roots in Basque, which could easily explain my love of languages(spanish) and other things. I love Segovia, Sergio Mendes, and anything relating or having anything to do with Spain. I know that sounds pretty simple -nonetheless it seems to be there for me.I have enjoyed looking at your art work and blogs.

Hi Cherry, sorry to hear about your long bout of RSI. How very frustrating for you! I'm keeping mine in check by doing a lot less but with Autumn coming I'll have to be extra careful because that's when my energy levels are high and you know me.....I launch myself into my work as if there's no tomorrow. I hope you are able to get back into the swing of things again soon...gently. xx
