Ah. A brainiac. lol no offense meant.I like physics, but I don't get it, really. That involves a lot of thinking, and thinking hurts my brain. That is why I paint.
The most important thing to know is your definition of 'art'. Mine is not limited.

The American Heritage® Dictionary
Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature.

The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium.

Encarta Dictionary: English
beautiflu or thought provoking works produced through creative activity

Words of others
"Creative work is play. It is free speculation using materials of one's chosen form."-Stephen Nachmanovitch

"There are two kinds of truth; the truth that lights the way and the truth that stirs the heart. The first of these is science, and these second is art."-Raymond Chandler

"Not what man knows but what man feels, concerns art. All else is science."
Bernard Berenson

"Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen."
Robert Bresson

"CREATIVITY is seeing something new when you look at something old...it is the heart of civilization and is the driving force of revolution" Thomas Merton

"In the creative act, the artist goes from intention to realization through a chain of totally subjective reactions." Marcel Duchamp

"I’m a terrible cook, but if I could cook, I would see that as art as well, it’s how much creative energy you put into something."-Tracey Emin

So, you see, I would even say your teaching physics is art if you help those students that are really willing to learn understand it.
OK. Now my brain hurts, so I am going to go finish my oil painting :-)
