I suppose some apologies are in order. I have more or less fallen off the face of CCS for the last, oh, six weeks or so. I don't have any good excuses. My house didn't catch fire, my cat didn't die, and work hasn't been especially time-consuming. I've just been negligent.

When I was growing up I was privileged to have a group of extremely creative girlfriends. We played games of make-believe far longer than most of our classmates, which at the time may have been thought of as a sign of immaturity, but now I look back with fondness for those games. We created whole worlds and somehow kept it all in our heads, incorporating new details without concern, even if it often meant the timeline was not exactly consistent.

I'm back from Arizona. It feels like a hundred years since I last logged in here, so it'll take me a while to catch up. Just wanted to say howdy to y'all. I took some photos while I was there, in case you're curious: pics here.

I did a little bit in the art journal I mentioned in my last blog post, but I haven't scanned anything in yet. I hope you all are doing well.

Last night I purchased the only unlined journal I could find at Target. It's an ugly little thing, with pink camouflage-patterned cloth inexpertly affixed to the hardcover binding and six identical pens attached to the front with elastic. But I've started doodling in it. I've never made an art journal before - all my journals have been words and glue-ins, not drawings. I'm curious to see how this one turns out.
