Ah, yes...I've seen a version of these in supply catalogs. But I don't remember seeing them in connection with claywork. Kewl Jules! They would definitely work for small details. I'll check at my Hobby Lobby and Michael's... Of course, many times I…

I have no clue about cuticle pushers... Herre is what they look like. I used to get then at hobby lobby or that universal teacher store- neither on had them last week- maybe in your town...The thing is, they don't break, bend or wear out- so stores…

Hmmmm...I can't recall anything like it... unless they resemble the cuticle pushers...that replaced orange sticks? (OK, I never use them and my nails can attest to that, but... :-)

DJ...in place of my fingers for mushing oil around- partly to keep my fingers cleaner and partly because my fingers are to big for little canvases- I have been using those rubber tipped tools... originally sold with sculpture stuff to mush clay with…

Camille, I just love to mush! lol... I've been using a palette knife for the past few months, then I usually resort to finger tips. After spending so much time washing my hands, I tried rubber gloves. Well, I mushed so much with my fingers, that I t…

Deej...It will be some time before that room divider is complete, but I promise to let ya know and share when completed. I don't know DJ, but mushing around with oil paint, sounds like a good place to be! Think of all the discoveries that will hap…

Oh, Camille, I would love to see the room divider when you can post it...I love "light & airy." :-) The leaf motif intrigues me also, as does all of your art, my friend. Thinking of you, Deej, who has been just mushing paint around in explorations a…

Sounds lovely, kid. I'm so glad you enjoyed the opening, and I'm sure everyone there loved your perspective on the Long Island Iced Tea theme. Working on another mahrvelous piece at the moment? Do take care of yourself, dahling! Love & Laughter, De…

What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

That seems to be the theme of my life anymore. Just wanted to pop in and say Hi and sorry I've been AWOL for so long. I won't go into the saga that has been my life for the past six months, but suffice it to say it wasn't a good place to be. But as they say, that which doesn't kill you will make your stronger, eh?

I have been popping in now and again and your discussions and support of each other have helped me get through it. So, I thank you all. It just blows me away, how supportive and creat… Continue

Just Checking In

Just thought I would check in as I haven't been posting much lately.
The last two weeks have been very difficult.

Some of you know that we had been agonizing over our dogchild Otis and his health. A week past Monday we had to put him to sleep, and now he waits for us on the Rainbow Bridge. That was one of the most difficult things we have had to do. But, as hard as it is, we know it was best for him. We hoped he would go quietly in his sleep, but even he knew it was time. There were signs. As m… Continue

Haven't made a snow angel since I don't know when. Maybe never, memory is dim. But this was fun. I couldn't convince Taya to join me, but in a year or two she will be more than happy.

We got to play with Taya today. Which is go… Continue

Valerie, Thanks for your prayers for the fire victims. They need them.
Yes a lot of the fires are started by arsonists. One of them was a 15 year old boy. Many of them are fire fighters who light them so they can go and have the thrill of fighting them!!!! It is frightening. There are also looters who take advantage of the situation. Sad to say. On a positive note the outpouring of love and care from Australians and around the world including you is awesome.
lots of love from susan in australia

Beautiful dream catcher, Valerie :) Did you make it? I love making them, but haven't in quite a while. There are dream catchers all over my house.

Wow .. I just thought about the one I made for my nephew, who died at 21, a heroin overdose ... his dad insisted that the dream catcher I had made for him be interred with him. I was having vivid, pleasant dreams during my nap today. Should have written them down because now I can't remember a thing.

I'm sure you could do beading on a loom, it isn't hard, just figuring out what to do with all the warp threads when you take it off is all. Look for some bead tutorials about it if you like, Fire Mountain Gems has them. Thanks for your comments!

Well, I have been kind of journaling much of my life. It helps me get insight into myself and helps me stay calm. I have always been interested in the biographies and techniques of other creative beings, so really will watch with your interest your art site. Ebay, Etsy, and ArtFire, hm, I'll have to check them out. I'm trying to get a store of some store going, just need to do some research. Balance, righrt, playing with my art for now seems top priority. I think this group is really helping me focus in that direction.I've been taking a writing class so we'll see how the book goes......

Thanks for your wonderful words. Yes, I have often thought of publishing either a book about my creative journey and how it helped me to cope when I was growing up i chaotic household. Sometimes, though, that gets a bit painful so I put it in backburner. Maybe more a book of spiritual creations with my art and poetry, I don't know. I guess I'm still takng baby steps, but ideas are there. Have you ever had your artwork or stories published or shown? We shall see how everything goes. Your support as a believing mirror may help me in my goals.
