You're so sweet Beverly..thank you! Good spot, too..the oranges and golds are acrylic, but they are craft paint, so very opaque and flat against the more vibrant fluid acrylics. I love the fluids for some applications, but I use everything except oi…

This looks like it was fun, freeing and spontaneous to paint! How do you like the acrylic fluids? There looks like pastels or chalks on the painting (the golds and oranges). If it's all acrylics and inks, I'm floored! My heart opens up looking at th…

Yes, it's cold and windy in my part of Illinois too! My flowers are blooming, but I'm afraid they are going to get "snowed on" soon. If you want to see lots of things you can check out http://www.flickr.com/livingstonestudo/photos . I'm so glad they brightened your day Beverly and Jules..and thanks to you too Carol!

Hi Sue,
Just wanted to say your vibrant paintings cheered me up on this
rather dreary rainy/wintry day in Illinois. I'm gonna hop over to your
website to see more eye candy!!! Hm, it agrees we midwesterners
are having similar weather woes today!

I love your colorful pictures you recently posted...so vivid and fun, yet also seem to be packed with meaning. Thanks for sharing them- looking at them has brightened up the cloudy rainy day I have here :-)

Cool work, Sue, I love it!

Keep thinking I will do something more 3D one of these days. I've used paper clay in the past and I like it a lot.

Your blog is really interesting too. There are very few artists who write about their process and it fascinates me:-) I've put a link to it on mine and am thinking to make a post about your genetically altered creatures on We Are What We Grow one day soon.

Welcome to CCS! Looks like its going to be very interesting having you around.

Hi Barbara! Thanks so much for looking..the little sculptures are made from paperclay. I have worked with lots of different mediums, but this is so immediate, and takes no kiln..is non-toxic, etc., I love it. It has it's drawbacks..if it dries to quickly it cracks..it needs to be well sealed or it scratches, and it isn't hard like clay, so you have to reinforce joints, etc., but for me..it's great stuff. I worked in paper pulp (as well as clay, etc.) for a long time, and that was so time consuming and limited as far as surface texture, but I enjoyed it too. I layer paint, so that's the most time consuming part of the process..to make it look like ceramic or stone..that part has taken years to get down. It's all like meditation for me though...I'm happiest when I'm working. Your beadwork is beautiful too!!
