I promised I would report on my retreat and so I am finally sitting down to do so.
One never knows what will come up in a retreat of this nature....alone with one's self and one's thoughts.
I can't say enough about how much I feel everyone who can...should take this journey. Each person's journey will be entirely their own...which is the point really.
Both journeys I have taken so far have found me digging deeply into my inner child and giving her a chance to shine, be…

TCam said… That's what I am thinking. I posted a bunch to keep Dan busy! lol A huge leap for someone that used to put everything in a container under my bed. I think this is called "confidence"! ;-)
TCam said… Hey Nancy, I have spent my day organizing photos and posting some on my page. I know you can see the one bobbin lace photo that Caroline commented on but are you able to access the 3 Photo Albums that I created? I can see them but I don't know if they are accessible to others. I see on your wall you have this wonderful slideshow of your beautiful work. Can I somehow do that with my albums?
TCam said… I don't know many lace makers. I learned from Maria Clancy. I first saw the technique while flipping through a library book looking for something totally unrelated and was fascinated by it. Then a month later came across a Lacemakers "convention" I guess at the RA Centre so I went in with Ian and the girls to see what was up. It was amazing and I figured I would never be able to figure it out; however, there was a woman working with hundreds of bobbins on her pillow and her hands were flying. I was later told that she was blind. I thought if she could do it then I could at least figure out the basics....that's about as far as I have gotten. lol
TCam said… It is lace making. Who is your friend? I learned a few years ago when I lived in Ottawa. I wish I could find someone here. My friend calls me a repository of the dying arts. lol I have a need to know how things are made. I know the techniques to show others but am not a master of any. If I don't know how I sit down and teach myself....I have been trying to figure out Nalbinding for a while with limited success.
This has been a very fruitful discussion! Simple fun is gathering strength!
Dan Goodwin said… Nancy, will you be joining us in the Thirty Days group in December? What do you have on this month?
