Philanthropic and humanitarian awards
2003 World Award also known as the "World Social Award" for "humanitarian relief work helping children and victims of war". [90]
2004 Man for Peace Award presented by Mikhail Gorbachev for his "dedication to promote peace, the reconciliation of people and to condemn terrorism", the ceremony was held in Rome, Italy and attended by five Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
(2005) Honorary Doctorate by the University of Gloucestershire for services to education and humanitarian relief.[91]
(2007) The Mediterranean Prize for Peace in Naples, Italy. He received the award "as a result of the work he has done to increase peace in the world".[92]
10 July 2007, honorary doctorate (LLD) by the University of Exeter, in recognition of "his humanitarian work and improving understanding between Islamic and Western cultures".[93] The ceremony was attended by esteemed personalities including Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and guitarist Brian May.

Soul Collage, hm? Where ya doing it? I have a few artist friends who have attended several soul collage workshops in the area here and have totally loved and been fascinated by it. You'll have to let me know how that goes. Yep, the upset of the season. I didn't think Cris had a chance, really, though I was rooting for him off and on. That song Adam sang, "Mad World" I believe that was all haunty and dreamy background totally had me in his clinches. His background in theatre intrigues me too. He'll go places for sure probably more than the winner, Cris, don't you think? I was so addicted to the show this year, such great singers and all so nice. Did your girls watch, if so, who did they like?

Yep the lion gets in way but he's kind of mysterious so I'll leave him there, but I read your beautiful comments just fine over on my end. You know how much I appreciate your feedback. My heart is bursting. The blog for me is a personal journal. I can put my images there and then write thoughts and words to convey a deeper meaning of what I am creating. You might want to consider a blog yourself. Sign up for google and check it out. At first I was scared to death to do a blog, maybe some boogie man or wierdo would stop by but no, the comments have been so supportive and insightful. I've really been going into a spiritual domain lately. The religious statues help me to express that. Hope you sign up and then stop by as much as you want. It's always motivating to know my good friends are peeking in.
