Hi Jane,
Gesso is basically an "undercoating" for your work. I use it on paper in my journals even, then paint over it. Seems to make things glide better. It's a thick, white substance and very soothing to work with! You can buy it at any arts & ...

Today
Hello Friends!
Thank you for hanging in here with and for me. It's been a long road from Winter to Spring, but I feel as if I'm in full bloom, and I am happy, happy, happy...about most things!
Today I helped my friend Elizabeth turn her home into an "art gallery" full of her daughter's artworks. Erin (a member of CCS) just graduated from high school and will be enrolling in Art Institute of Boston in the Fall. Her mother, Elizabeth, and I worked for several hours this afternoon "framing" a bun… Continue

- Mary, Thanks for the e-mail. For some reason, the ning system won't let me reply to it, even though I've tried several times.
But, yes, school has started here, and the year ahead looks exciting. I hope your eighth grader is doing well academically and socially. Keep your prayers going for him, and he'll be fine.
I posted a bit about the Honduras trip on My CCS Page under "DJ's Stuff" and will post more on my "DJ's Studio" blog soon. Check it out when you get a chance...God is good.
It sounds like you're really into art journaling and enjoying it! I think it's great. If you want to start a journal swap with me, I'd enjoy it very much. Whee! All I ask is that we keep it non-themed so we can each do what we want artistically. Is that OK with you? :-)
We can each begin by doing a couple of pages in our own, then swap them, right?
