The fest is Friday thru Sunday and we'll be at the Congress Plaza Hotel Saturday and Sunday nights ... if you're not into blues, would some time onThursday or the following Monday…"

- That friend I spoke of earlier in the Chicago area (Lombard) has asked his sweetie to get married ... and made it perfectly clear that my BF and I are expected to be there at the ceremony (no date set yet, though) ... so when it happens, I'll be wanting to meet up with you, for sure! :)

- Hi Mary Beth ... did you happen to partake in any of the Chicago Blues Fest this past weekend? Have a friend there who called on the cell phone during Johnny Winters set on Friday ... the plan was for him to attend all four days and his better half accompany him on the last two ... I haven't found out yet if that actually came to pass, though. I've been invited for the last three years ... due to finances, haven't made it yet!

- Hi Mary Beth! I adore your photo ... what a loving picture :) Hope to see you around in some of the groups soon. I like dogs, collage and drawing & painting, and used to do a little dabbling in calligraphy a long time ago.
Tap dancing? Well, no ... but still believe that I faked it pretty good when I was a small person :)

Mary Hicks said… - My cousin married a girl from Downers Grove way back in...1970? Her sister and I became good friends, though I've lost track. I do still keep in touch with my cousin and his wife, who now life in Rochester. My brother has lived in Champaign for about 15 years, so I've visited the state several times. My grandmother was actually born in Decatur!
Funny how one (2?) words, like Downers Grove, evoke a flood of knowledge and memories in a person! I haven't thought of my friend Karen for a long time, but still treasure her...and I need to call my brother. Thanks for the reminder, Mary Beth!
