I read and reread Black Beauty and Alice In Wonderland. I so wanted to be Alice. Such amazing adventures. Made my mother crazy asking for hair bands and wide blue ribbons around the waists of white dresses - none of which were either in my wardrob...

I see an Erte influence in the framed figure at the upper right corner. This is a delightful piece on so many levels. Great, intense colors, rich textures, and I'm willing to bet there is more than one inside joke lurking in the depths.

Thank you for the praise. Nothing special is required to preserve pine needle work. Keeping the piece out of the sun, especially if the needles have been dyed, is the biggest tip. An occasional dusting, and if that doesn't happen, a quick...

Welcome. I am a watercolorist, photographer, mixed media artist but in the last year or so have been focusing on digital art. I see you love computer art too. Congrats on the creativity workshop. Wish I could participate in it. I think helping others to get their creative juices moving is a wonderful thing to do. Well, I guess this place CCS is kind of an on-line artist-s colony. Saturday's Workshop
It was a small group - only 4 but since it was small I got to play too. I absolutely love the reactions everyone has to being reintroduced to finger painting. And the resulting paintings are so amazing. Even those who swear they have no artistic ability dive right in and start smearing, dripping and slinging paint around. After all, there's no way to do finger painting wrong so an entire level of self-judgment doesn't come into play.

Going First
I followed an impulse today and attended a meeting for art docents in Alameda. The schools use docents to provide their art programs. Apparently I will be the first non-parent docent volunteer. It's a but late in the school year so I may only get to lead 1 or 2 sessions before summer break. Looks like I'll be assigned to a second grade class. Imagine all the fun art projects I'll get to to do!
