MY VENTING PLACE OF THIS AND THAT...

When my friend Annie died in March, it was the beginning of a season of grief and inner fear-fear I guess because of my own cancer scare, and astonishment that Annie, who was so vital, and seemingly fit and well, suddenly died before we could blink!-it knocked me about-so many young deaths this year...

So I need a place to vent, to think, to sort out the random order of happenings in my life=a place to put my 'down' poems, a nest to feel at peace in...

Red, Red Rose...… Continue

ART SCHOOL DAYS...1995-'96

I have decided to post my art school journal on here so that I will have a hard copy record!

Not sure how it will work out yet as I am trying to scan print using omnipage, and pics with PS, so we will see what happens....

So here the story begins on Art School days...

My initial journey into the world of art goes back many years to my earliest recollections. As a child, my life was surrounded by artists and art, paintings and parties, actors and actresses, plays and rehearsals, musicians and… Continue

Starting Out...

Well this is the first time I have ever written a blog, so will start with baby steps and add to it as I go....

Firstly a few brief notes on my background...

I'm an Australian visual artist, musician, and writer, who, by good fortune of birth and parentage, was brought up in an often zany and creative home.

The main influence over my lifetime has been my late father, Geoffrey Mainwaring, an Australian second world war artist who has shared his love of people, art, and nature with all who expr… Continue

Michael Buble is a talent!! His voice...wow...he just sings from his heart. Even though most of his songs are re enact from old songs, but he sings in his own style! Way to go for him :)

Hi there Julia! A late reply on my part, but not without love and blessings: This is reposted from our other discussion on the looking glass photos...just want you to know I did not forget ya!
THe Glassy blues piece intrigues me you left me is really divine!
! I love the feel of that flower forcing it's growth through glass! I see vases, and buds and blue and long diagonal strips of luminous glass!

Did you take photos and blend them all together? or did ya take one image and photoshop it! This is awesome! It is tactile and painterly! It begs to be felt with the fingers, alluring aromas come to mind!

The words, so fitting and beautiful! Thank you for this treasure, Julia!

Love and hugs from Dabs

Dear Julia, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I keep track of all the threads pretty often over in the Julia Cameron Reader's group though I'm not doing the program at the moment myself. I still have such a kindred link to her books that I feel compelled to see how others are doing. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You are in my thoughts! *hug*
