Oh, we can tease and call it babbling all we want. I have enjoyed all of this...it has actually given me hope that I can and will find a way to keep art in the forefront. Right now, some of you know that I paint houses for income. I enjoy doing thi…

Ah ... look what you have created, Gretchen :) Great thread. I'll take a turn at babbling now :) I know what you mean about the unwillingness to accept alternatives in health (and in spirituality) and I think many of us run up against that brick wa…

I am honored that the three of you shared your experiences with me. Things that each of you said mean more to me than I can really express. I just thought I had an interesting insight that I wanted to share because I thought somebody else might bene…

Hi Gretchen, and now I have the rambling bug. First off, I love the concept you are striving for with the b&b and all. I too find it intriguing and would love more info about it. I agree with Jules about the midwest being very slow to embrace energy…

And the winner is....art!

So for the last eighteen months or so I've been mostly sidetracked away from doing art, first when I thought I needed to be a massage therapist and then when I needed to be a Giant Squid on Squidoo followed by learning how to build a website the Site Build It way.

Yesterday I had a long meeting with a great creative business coach (who provides her services free here in my small town because some people here were brilliant enough to create an economic development office to help businesses devel… Continue

The Power of an Art Blog

I've had two health related companies find the image below on my heArt-a-Day blog and want to license it since January 2009, even though the original blog entry was in 2007. The second contact has turned into a lucrative commissioned job. My message here is, you just never know until you put it out there.

Make a Paper Ornament: The Porcupine Ball

The tradition at Christmas on my mom's side of the family was to carefully save all the foil wrapping paper after unwrapping presents in order to make these spectacular tree ornaments from them. I've made a Squidoo lens with instructions on how to make them (although I admit, writing directions isn't… Continue

How I've Showcased My Creative Interests on Squidoo (and made a little cash too)

Lin ran across one of my squidoo lenses and suggested I post about them here. If you just want to go see them, I have a list of them on my "Lensography". If you want to know all the hows, whys and whats of Squidoo and a mini lesson in internet marketing - keep reading.

Squidoo is a unique sort of free webpage hosting service where people can write pages about anything they are interested in. There are templates all set up with various s… Continue

Gretchen, how are you! It cheers me up so that you have joined the Chemical Sensitivity group! In January, we will start experimenting together with food-grade and non-toxic creativity together! Hope you will join us for these! Have a beautiful holiday season! Love Camille

Hi again Gretchen! I just read your "Ode To An Instrument" and want to tell you how beautifully written that journal entry is! I also really like the idea for the exercise that you followed up with. I'd have posted this comment there, but just don't feel like I can join another group right now. Even though I'm a piano player, it's another hobby; I don't really consider myself a musician (just like I don't consider myself an artist -- what's up with that?). Anyway, thanks for that, and for the wonderful inspiration it brought to me.

Hi Gretchen! Sorry to read that you're down in the dumps. Join the club, girlfriend! I'm starting to believe that it's just summer and heat and inactivity vs. activity. I want to be out doing things -- at the beach, camping, etc. But we're "stuck" here in Worcester working, cleaning, cooking, being parents. Life can be hard. If you have any bright ideas about how to make my black cloud go away, I'll welcome them! In the meantime, if I think of any creative ways to let my black cloud go, I'll be sure to inform you. Be well. My love to you on your journey. XO

Gretchen,

I have been a long time fan of your heart-art page, so I was tickled when you mentioned the "inchies" group and came here to join! Thanks so much for linking it, and I'm so glad to be part of such a creative group of people. Cheers from NYC!
