Dan, I just went to listen to Steve Jobs' speach. It was very moving... Yes follow your heart and intuition is something I have to remember... And I like the end of his address where he wishes the students to stay hungry and foolish... Hungry for li…

It sure takes us out of isolation and allowsus to share our passions with like-minded souls - like here on CCS - And since we create in relative isolation, it's good to be able to share and to get feedback and inspiration from others! Claude Aimée

Hi Claude! I just joined CoachCreativeSpace and discovered that you are a member as well. So great to find you here and view your wonderful drawings, paintings, and mandalas. What a treat! I guess we'll be seeing each other at the A Temps Perdu vernissage on Saturday. Looking forward to that. In the meantime, follow this link to my website and take a look at the course I am offering at my studio: Defining Yourself as an Artist. Please tell anyone you think might be interested. It's an 8-week course starting this Thursday. Take care and see you on Saturday!

Profile Information

What's Your Favourite Way To Create?
I'm a visual artist (papermaker, printmaker, painter, photographer), and I also write, (journaling, some short stories, children stories, poetry) and I play a bit of piano and accordeon and recently started playing the vibraphone. So even though the visual arts are my main area, I couldn't do just that, I also have to write and play music. All the arts are interconnected and enrich each other.
Favourite Artists (in ANY creative medium)
Rufino Tamayo, Henry Moore, Camille Claudel, Botero, Georgia O'keefe, Jasper Johns, Paul Klee, Imogene Cunningham, Frank Lloyd Wright, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, Ray Bradbury, Marguerite Yourcenar, Henri Troyat, Jean Giono, J,K. Rowling, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Roal Dahl, Tasha Tudor, Beatrix Potter, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, George Gerswin, John Cage, J.S. Bach, Santana, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chico Buarque, Oscar Peterson, Pedro Almadovar, François Truffault, Carlos Saura
Greatest Creative Moment You've Had?
Lately, I started to play the vibraphone in public with our jazz house band!!! Performing in public has always been very frightening - but I did it! Now I've got to learn to show more of my artwork in public. That can also be frightening, especially if we're afraid that it might not be well received by the viewing public and critics....
What's Your Biggest Creative Dream?
Playing Jazz piano and the vibraphone well, exhibit my work in many parts of the world and continue to share my love of papermaking, printmaking and music with others and to live a festive life every day.

A lesson in letting go

Last week-end a was given a challenge: to create four, 3-dimensional letter S. Added to the letters created by the other members of the collective it would spell the name of our group: Les Impossibles - meaning the impossible ones, in the sense that we are impossibly creative women artists, united by our common passion for creating artist books.

So I went home, all excited, and started rummaging through the mountain of stuff I've been accumulating over the years while my mind was racing with lo… Continue

Happy Valentine's Day

Just a quick note to all the wonderful people here at CCS to wish them all a Happy Valentine's day!

Love!

Chocolates!

Kisses!

And more love!

Here are a few Valentine Day cards I made recently for a cardmaking workshop I was supposed to give. Except not enough people signed up for it. Well, at least it gave me a chance to play and make Valentine Day Cards.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it stop!!!

Since I last posted about the snow, it hasn't stopped falling. The first big snow fall came a few weeks ago. We got about 30 cm (1 foot) of snow. The snow plow deposited a mountain of snow just in front of our driveway. It took about 3 days to clear everything. That was followed by more days of light snow, bitter wind, a cold spell. The winter routine is settling in: shoveling snow, getting some wood from outside and feeding the wood stove in the kitchen, making soups and stews to warm the belly… Continue

First Day of Snow

I woke up this morning and the ground was covered with a thin carpet of snow. The sky is white and in the tree just outside my window there are 6 cardinals hopping from branch to branch. It's the first time I've seen so many in one spot. Maybe they are having a little jamboree to celebrate this special event.

The chickadees don't seem to mind the cold weather and fly excitedly to the feeder, grab one seed and take off as fast as they came. The small downy wood pecker is pecking at the s… Continue

I missed you, folks!

The last few weeks I've been busy with a lot of projects and things I had to take care of. I also had to work on my project about starting a business. The course I'm taking is going well, I learn a lot every week and it helps me demystify a lot of things about the business aspect of starting a business. I've had a lot of homeworks to do and it took a lot of my time. I made sure I continued doing a bit of creative something every day or almost and didn't stop my morning writing. But I truly misse… Continue
