Thanks for the comment on Curtains, Deb. It sort of felt like where I am at the moment creatively while I was drawing it. I started at the outer edges and was going to leave space in the middle for a central image but the curtains just kept repeating and repeating ... It feels like I'm behind the curtain at the moment, and I've got stage fright :)

Hi Jules

Thanks for your comments. They really do help. I am inspired now to paint and write more and post them.

This is a really friendly place which is encouraging. Yes, I am a harsh critic of myself but not of others. Like you, I enjoy any art for how it makes me feel.

Regards
Deb

Hey Deb- I came here to say not to let the fact you are a beginner stop you from posting- If you are like the rest of us your work is far better than you think (we all tend to be our own harshest critics)

Then I discover that you have posted some. Good for you! The photo is beautiful. I would love to grab a tall glass of ice tea and sit in a wicker chair and sit in that vista to enjoy it.

Considering that your favorite way to create is to write- where you shape words to create mood and meaning- in painting you use shape and color to do that.
Your paintings express feelings, moods- that is the hardest part- capturing a unique espression and feeling and translating it through your painting to others. The technical part comes with time- like anything else practice and experimenting is all you need. I would hang either of these paintings on my wall, as is. I like how they make me feel when I look at them.

We are all beginners once and CCS is the safest place I have ever found to put some of my work "out there"- for others to see.

Greatest Creative Moment You've Had?
In 1999 I was in my second year of university and that was the most creative year I had in writing as well as music. It was almost the most difficult year because of family crisis but I would prefer to be free of family crisis. I can be creative without it, I'm sure.

It used to be to be a successful singer, tour, make CDs etc but now I am older it is to be a successful freelance writer on the net and print and acquire an abundance of wealth with it.
