Maureen...those are not pelicans, though it would have been more exotic if they were...they are just a bunch of seagulls, waiting for the fish to come by...

Hi Maureen! Hw are you feeling these days? ...and what are you up to? It is understandable to grieve for CCS friends, yet feel the need to get off the PC, for awhile...it's another one of those paradoxes of life!!! : ) Did something happen to you,…

thanks for your comments, Camille. Glad you enjoyed the collages! I'll make sure your thoughts are conveyed to my 2 young photographers, they'll be really chuffed to see 'em. Loved your dragonflies & ponds etc, by the way....

I'm so glad to hear you are following the spirit within. What could be healthier? For me, my summer has been very filled with working in my garden (I've got a three-year landscaping project under way), hiking and starting a botanical illustration program.

Don't worry about being an erratic CCS member. I think that's all I've ever been! ;)

You're such a sweetie! I can't believe you found a video of Cap Lumiere. It's such a small place, population no more than 50. One street, really. The video added a nearby village and I can tell it was taken by a local because of the lingering shots on the church and coop. That's where all the activity is-major social highlights there ;) The field with the rainbow was in my friend's back yard and we used to go for walks in the woods just past that.
It's about an hour away. We may visit this summer. No I don't have any photos even though we lived there for a year, but I did do a painting inspired by the place. Doesn't give a clear view, but I'll post it anyway.
Big hugs to you for finding and sharing this.

Hi Camille, you wrote evocatively about sacred places. I've been to forests like that. My favorite sacred place is Cap Lumiere. We used to live there and most everyone who sees it feels uplifted, joyous. It means "light" and is a view of the ocean and sky that seems endless in all directions but down.

Camille, I live your Geometry of Light. Hmmmm looks like summer coming through the bubbles, and its hard to break through those winter bubbles, shattering them into the wonderful light and warmth of summer. Maybe I'll do something like this for one of my ATC, quilted of course.

Oh Geeeeeeeez...there you are! I just found your message on my page. You would think by now that I would be able to follow along here. (ha, ha, ha) Eating icecream together sounds like a real good plan, Lady!! And yes, Manorville is way out there, just before Riverhead. I'm in that famous "Pine Barrens" area...just off the LIE between exits 69 and 70.

Camille, I think you must be a fellow foodie by the looks of some of your sculptures- they look deliciously edible, like little cakes.

Had to show you this link for acrylic paint that is apparently safe for the chemically sensitive: Generation Green Acrylics
