I absolutely love this photo...the angle, composition, and the lighting really give it a pensive moody quality.

Fantastic photo of Winston! I'm always mesmerized by his saucer eyes!

Je veux bien mais je ne veux pas embêter les anglophones avec des messages en français. Y a t'il moyen de communiquer en privé sur ce site (dont je continue à ne pas comprendre complètement le fonctionnement)?

WOW. What an expression you have captured. Awesome.

I came on to leave a message and got so distracted by your picture--you look just like a woman who was on Oprah a few days ago who won a prize for creating playgrounds for kids with disabilities. Then I fell asleep before I left you a message!

Anyway, you said, "that what I express creatively might resonate with others." I call it "validation." I just want validation that my creative endeavors represent more than just a blip between now and eternity. I would like to know that someone feels the joy or confusion or silliness or angst, or whatever it was that moved me to express it from my fingers through the thread in the fabric or the ink on the paper or just one crystalline note from my French horn hanging in the air. I would like to think that I could evoke that same emotion in even just one person and give him leave to experience it for himself. That's what keeps me creating.

Have you posted a picture of the piece you described above?

Welcome aboard!

Hi everyone, and many belated thanks for the warm welcome messages. In answer to some of your questions, my profile picture is a self portrait I painted a few years ago.
I'm presently in a period of no inspiration which is why I happened to find this site, looking for some creative inspiration! I haven't had much time to find my way on the site but hope to eventually get involved in a group or two. It's so nice to feel and see all the creativity here!

Carole-

Collage, assemblage, a woman after my own heart! Welcome to CCS. There are a lot of interesting groups here. First Steps is a great place to start. Leader Dan is the most helpful person imaginable. Play and have fun!

Hi Carole, is it CCS...or do you always look that happy? Have a look around...there's plenty to see.

Profile Information

What's Your Favourite Way To Create?
Collage, acrylics, photography, multimedia, assemblage, encaustics, digital imaging, beading.
Favourite Artists (in ANY creative medium)
Joseph Cornell, Jasper Johns, Frida Khalo, Antonio Tapies, Klimt, Matisse, Chagall, Fra Angelico, Marcel Duchamp, Anselm Keifer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Rauschenberg....
Greatest Creative Moment You've Had?
After my spouse's death 8 years ago, I finally had something really important to express that words couldn't convey (I'm no writer). It seems to me that's when I had my first truly meaningful creative moment: using an old photograph of him and his mom, computer imaging techniques and some dried flowers: truly multimedia!
What's Your Biggest Creative Dream?
Like so many of us, that I might be able to create without self imposed limits and procrastination, and in so doing that others might enjoy my creations (I'm not asking to become famous.... just that what I express creatively might resonate within others).
