Cai, I received your message about your mural...Barbara Storier might be a good person to talk to about what is needed for creating a mural...Jules may be of some help there also
How many artists will be working with you on this collaboration?
...I wish you the best on this big project!
Love Camille

Hello, my dear Cai!
I love your kitty atcs!!!! They are so fun!! My two Mewses, Storm and Kenzie have been encouraging me to get back into the studio and do some artwork, so tonight I started a new painting! It's been way too long! I have to tell you something interesting. A few months ago, I went to a Ren faire with some friends of mine and we were looking through a booth that had jewelry. She had really inexpensive natural stone pendants for sale so we started looking through them. One stone I touched felt hot to me, very strange since it was a cool October day, and although it wasn't my favorite color, (it was gray with white stripes), I felt a sort of connected to it, although, deep down I really wanted something more exciting. The lady told my it was banded agate. Well, I ended up getting it after all, and I really do love it now. And here's the interesting part....the other day, I found a book on crystals at the book store and was looking through it. Banded agate was in there so I looked to see what it's properities were. The very first one listed was "Artistic Expression". Of course, I smiled. I have been frustrated lately because I have been needing to express Me more through my art and not just paint an image or an idea. Very, very interesting. Anyhoo.....just thought I'd share that. Have a great day!

Hello again!
Thanks for getting back to me, so quickly! Your Gifts interest me. I've always wondered about Reiki and have been curious about cystals, as well. Not really sure what I believe about them but I at least enjoy their "properties". The last few years I have really taken a liking to moonstone and laboradite. I was drawn to moonstone after a bad breakup, because I liked the feminine qualities of that stone and really needed to feel empowered as a woman. I still love it. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I've been feeling creatively lonely these days and it's nice to "talk" to other creative souls!
Hugs and purrs back at ya!!

Hello Cai!
Now it's my turn to get back to you! I don't spend much time at CCS much anymore, only because the computer seems to eat up so much time that should be spent doing other things, (I'm finding now, that I'm back visiting, that I miss it!). Unfortunately, I do not own any horse, (although I would love to!!) We had a pony when I was a kid, but of course, I took him for granted. I'd appreciate him so much more if I had him now! I do have two cats, Kenzie and Storm, who are my fuzzy daughters and I love them so much!!! I'm planning on doing some paintings of them! They are my Mewses after all! :) I primarily work in acrylic. I did watercolor for a great deal of my life and got bored with it a few years ago and switched. I still do some watercolor and am now experimenting with mixed media. The celtic animals were watercolor, acylic and india ink. I would really like to try some collage, but haven't gotten there yet. Anyway, I LOVE your jewelry!!!! It is stunning! I would love to hear about your creative process. Not the methods, really, but more your thought processes, your inspirations. As I get older, I am becoming more and more fascinated with the artist behind the art. The art takes on so much more meaning for me when I understand the artist a little better. I never cared much for a lot of "masterpieces" and classic artists until I started learning about their lives. Anyhoooo. :) Your work is gorgeous, Daughter of the Ocean, and thanks for sharing yourself with us!

Hi Cai ... long time, no "see"! I just read your post over at 30 Days and wanted to let you know that I started a Winter Bracelet Swap in the Beadalicious group ... please join us!

Looking at your post a couple of comments down from here .. I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium once, and want to go back! I loved the jellyfish tank when you first go in ...

A friend of my BF found a smooth flat black rock on the beach when his sis rented a beach house for a family get together this summer. He drilled a hole through it, and is going to bring it over one day soon, wants it on a necklace with a couple of beads for a Christmas gift for her ... he's sure she's gonna cry with sentimentality when she sees it :) I love helping people make something special like that.

Think about the bracelet swap ... you don't have to decide until Oct. 30th and the mailing date will be December 9th ...

Cai, congratulations on your weight loss challenge! What an inspiration your story is to me! Talking about the sense of taste and feeding your emotions - geez, we should probably start a separate "Therapy" discussion group!

Humans are so amazing, how they mistreat their bodies and their environment. You obviously have learned how NOT to do that, which is so wonderful. I'm from a big family (7 kids) and still, well into my 50s, can't cook for less than 5 people at a time! It just isn't in my genes (or should I say my jeans, which keep getting smaller...).

I married a chef, so cooking is a big deal in our house. Even though he's no longer a chef (he still feeds people, just in a different way!), cooking is still an "event" and something we really enjoy doing together. Many, many temptations...

Anyway, good for you! Keep us posted on how is continues to go for you, and keep sharing your beautiful jewelry creations with us, as well.

Holy Schmoses!!
Im amazed at all the depth of FEELING that has come from working with the rocks that I found at the beach this weekend...First its a HUGE treat to get out of town and go 2 hours to the beach...let alone Monterey Bay Aquarium!!!!!!!
I came home and all the pieces for this project seem to be there, save one.
Sight, Sound, Taste, Touch, Smell...the one that has brought up more issues is TASTE!
what IS taste, how do we use tasting-eating to stuff our emotions?
HOW could I have allowed myself to get so overweight simply by not dealing with emotions and feelings that I had "stuffed" for so very long! For those that dont know I had the gastric bypass done Oct 22 and Im down nearly 100 lbs in almost 4 months...the changes are INCREDIBLE and the body changes skin tone, texture are so different and at times so ALIEN!
Food was my "friend" albeit a friend that I was gradually killing myself with!
taste has become so refined now...I WANT the good stuff...the veggies the different tastey cheeses even though its so very funny that 3 bites to 5 bites (mind you small ones) and my actually tummy is full but the MIND says ....and with much sadness, "youre full????????"
yes, and thank you I dont want to feel ill for doing the old habit
so I enjoy what I can, make healthy meals (even though I still cook mondo amounts like there are many mouths to feed) I pack it all up and put it away for lunches in the future ...lol
Taste or my representation of it, is about the ever open mouth, the need to fill that "void" within us that is so vast and yet, actually is so much smaller then we could possibly imagine and need to understand that it is we who hold the key to freeing ourselves of OUR chains!!!!!
I know, deep thoughts by Jack Handy here, but THIS is all that has been coming out
and the fact that today has been a very touchy- bitchy day at work...my solice has been my art customers!!!
they encourage and bring out that excitement in me about different projects and ways to do things and cool items that we have where I work (Nasco! www.enasco.com )
One of the many reasons I LOVE my job are all the art supplies that I could want for...I do get to enjoy sharing that wealth with my friend and Muse Lotus here of the group who inspires me to FEEL from the very depths of my TOES!
to CREATE to get that angst and frustration and joy and slendor OUT and into the world!
and these pieces again are SO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT from anything I have ever done...I have pics but tonight I must go to bed at a reasonable hour...up at 5am home at 730pm and sit with my creativity and do what I need to get all this out for all of you to see!
(sorry for the ramblings, just had to get all this out and relate what things are coming with these creations!)
