Comment by Dan Goodwin on January 2, 2009 at 4:26pm - Again there's a lot of texture on the surface you can't really see in the photo. Yes it's a very dark blue and fairly glossy. It was a stepping stone painting really, working through my Rothko influence! I was also composing music at the time which I see as very closely linked to colour field painting, in my head they're both about layers of colour/texture. Writing poetry for example I see as a very different creative media and experience.

- Dan, can you comment on this painting? It is very mysterious...Is it a very dark blue with a mysterious red stripe trying to tear it's way to the surface?
