my grandfather used to hire a beach hut in the summer, when i was a child. We used to go stay with my grandparents in Littlehampton, just along he coast from Brighton. There the huts were right beside the pebbly beach and we would spend all day on the beach, with a safe haven to make hot drinks and change our clothes away from prying eyes. The doors would open and be secured in such a way as to give us privacy from the people in the neighbouring huts... yes it was all very English but for us as children - it was a magical time.. yes Jules - a bit like a playhouse on the beach...!

The ones I've seen with doors open, people have little kitchens inside with a calor gas hob and some crockery, and a table and a chairs they then put just outside to sit on. And probably have tea and scones and read the newspaper in a very English way! Not big enough to sleep in, unless you curled up in a ball! But would be very cold!

I love seeing these pictures Dan...Is a beach hut a storage for boats? Or surfboards? Surely one does not overnight in these?
