Share 'Residencies'

Does anyone have any experience working as a resident artist? The sort of thing I do involves being outside in beautiful natural places and I am not sure studio or gallery work is the thing to do. I feel that gallery exhibitions can sometimes take away the essence of ephemeral land art. I don't know anyone in the artistic industry.
