I came across a brilliant blog called Fifty Words, where the author, Sam, "writes exactly fifty word stories Monday through Friday. "

So I thought we could try here.

The only "rule" is the text must be fifty words exactly. Otherwise you're free to write what you wish.

I'm going to try to write fifty words a day for the next few days and see how I get on.

Please join me and post your own fifty word stories and snapshots of life below...

Too Quickly

“What’s the time?” she gasped suddenly, fingers tightly gripping my arm, her tone breathless and desperate, her eyes stark wide and pleading, that pretty smile quickly vanquished by the look of a defendant at the moment they’re found guilty.

“Please tell me, our night’s not going too quickly is it?”

Love Cycle

He wondered how this cycle all began. Did she only love him because he loved her? Did he only love her because she allowed herself to be loved in a way no other girl he’d met ever had? Or in all this were they both just learning to love themselves?

Destination Home

She knew they could have been laying beneath the moonlit shadow of the mighty snow dusted Canadian Rockies, in the torn fallen grandeur of a back street Parisian hotel, or amongst fallen cherry blossom petals in old Kyoto.

All that mattered was they were home, together, in each other’s arms.

Thanks Leah, I do find it hard not to write in poetic form!

This was beautiful, Dan, I loved it. I loved the descriptions of the places.

And then, they were just at home...

Hi Dan... im sucked into the scenery... i was outside their home and i feel like they are my friends. I see myself walking past their house ... A smile painted on my face... oh i wonder to which house cupid rests next

It's interesting people's different interpretations of this, thinking the couple were at home dreaming of these exotic places.

When I wrote it, I meant that wherever they were in the world, "home" was in each other's arms.

I love how people see the same few words slightly differently...

This sounds like fun. I'm not a writer and won't post a lot, but here's one.

It sure sounds like you're a writer to me, after having read your piece. Please keep posting, if you want, of course...
