I'm ready to keep on, keepin' on....creatively! This is where I'll put my October-30 experience :)

I hope to just continue forward - to continue creating with consistency. I also hope to finish a coupla more pieces but...no pressure...right?

Among other things, this time I'm hoping to do a little more supporting of others. I'm naturally pretty self-centered - not a judgment, just a description. I get very wrapped up in my own l'il world. I'm a very strong introvert and get obsessed with my projects, no matter how small. Hopefully I can expand that a bit and practice giving more to others.

Lastly...I hope to pay a l'il more attention to my new blog, which I've kind of abandoned. Not sure that I want to share everything that I share here...but really...SOMETHING would be good, lol!

Day #20. I've added some fiery stuff - well, I meant it to be fiery but it might just be looking really gory - 'specially since it's eventually going to hold a heart. Time will tell, lol!

(Still Day 20) So, I was walking away from writing my previous post about mentioning how my altered book might be too gory (previous post). Then something hit me - bam! - right in the smacker.

I really LIKE disturbing, dark but stylish artwork (I have definite goth tendencies!) I refer to this as my "gross" art - often it's anatomical in some way. In fact, several months ago I spent a few days sculpting (with Sculpey) a nose, a tongue, two hearts and two kidneys (I was stuck at home after a kidney procedure).

I also made a set of teeth encircling a heart-shaped candy tin (Jane Wynn inspired) - I was planning to use the top of that same tin on the altered book I've been working on – so it happens that the set of teeth fits exactly into the same cut-out shape. And, I'd made this big, primitive-folk looking tongue to fit inside of it.

So, for fun, I set it into my project and it looks really....well, I think it's COOL!!! It's definitely "gross art" It is really a bit creepy - but stylish (in my mind:) Anyhow, I'm a little worried about posting it here (or anywhere), in case it's too edgy and not for the faint of heart. But - my Mom survived looking at it, lol, she just got a little playfully concerned :) I've probably made it sound much worse than it is, lol!

Think it would be okay to post it here? I've been so inspired by sharing my creative side here - it's truly been life-impacting :) Well, lemme know...

Please do. I would love to see !! I have a hunch I will not think it gross...creepy and dark maybe- but there is a place for dark statements as well as sunny skies and blue birds- if you know what I am trying to say :-)

go for it.... i was going to say in my reply to you yesterday that i thought the start of the "opening" had anatomical references.. but i was scared to voice that opinion... so do it! x

Sounds so intriguing I think you have to post it now Wendy! I wrote a fifty words recently that was quite bleak and realised too there's a dark side of creating I'd like to explore more of.
