I was in the process of finishing up this mandala, so this seemed like a good place to start.

FAIRY DANCE MANDALA
I haven't been participating at CSS for quite a long time. I've been busy creating a new life for myself. It's been an exciting time since I lost my job in April and I've been working on creating the life I've always wanted to live.

i need to play more with my watercolor crayons. Have you ever done face painting with them? That's why I bought them in the first place!

I already am pretty much creative every day. At this point in my life it is like eating and breathing. Giving myself time to make art is not as much of an issue for me as remembering to get my daily chores done semi regularly! I mentioned earlier that I am trying to create the life I have always wanted to live. I have been carrying the vision of being a self-sustaining artist for about 3 years now, and I would say I have wanted to be an artist all my life. Writing about this part of my creative venture is not so easy, though, because I am in the thick of it. The things I have learned so far are: set short term goals and do them. Crossing them off your to do list is very exciting, makes you feel accomplished, and makes you feel like you can trust yourself. Set long term goals and look forward to them. Review your goals often. The more you do, the easier it gets because you have some experience under your belt. Don't bite off more than you can chew but challenge yourself as well. Have fun have fun have fun. Love what you do. Ask for help. Be willing to change.

I've been putting the finishing touches on my mandala calendar for 2010 the past couple of days. I have a couple of things I still want to do before this 30 day challenge ends. Let's see if it happens!

MOVING RIGHT ALONG
This was an experiment in combining media, which came out with mixed results. (watercolor markers, watercolor crayons, and digital paint) I like the ladybugs, though.

Im working on opening up my shop on Etsy. This is something I've wanted to do for about 3 years, and I finally feel like Im ready. The five year plan is beginning to make some sense now.
