OK, we don't really come out and say "I'm procrastinating..." but maybe we should. Perhaps if we name it, we can defeat it.
Are you aware of putting off your making/writing/music?
What do you do instead of creating or devoting your time to your process?
What techniques do you use to stop the second dreaded "P" word?

I know this is a serious discussion, DJ, but.......Ok, here is a joke that has to do with procrastinating otherwise known as not finishing projects:

> CALMNESS IN OUR LIVES I am passing this on to you because it
definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our
lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too
can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, 'The way to achieve inner
peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never
finished. So, I looked around my house to see all the things I
started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this
morning, I finished off a bottle of Red Wine, a bottle of Vox Vodka,
a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old zanax prescription, the
rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You
have no idea how freaking good I feel right now. Pass this on to
those whom you think might be in need of inner peace

Is that a great piece of creativity that you are procrastinating on or you just not into it ?

I thought I would have a witty answer but maybe tomorrow I will get around to writing one or maybe I just need to sleep on it ?

I have found that people nagging me only makes me procrastinate more - so don't ask when I'll have my answer.
then again I think the more deep stuff that gets stirred by my creative writing the more I want to do something else - like alphabetize my t-shirts.

AW, Frank! Now, I have acquired one more thing to do besides make art.
My clothes could be color-grouped, too! I must add these to my list...of lists...just kidding. I'll put them in ROY G BIV order. Just kidding. Maybe cools n warms...Just kidding.

What a GREAT sense of humor! You made me laugh out loud....well, actually howl with laughter! You have made my day, for sure!
Procrastination must be a trait we creative folks carry around. I can see myself in so many descriptions others share about themselves on this CCS site. Some days, when I can somehow discipline myself better than usual, I will do housework or some task calling my name, then as a "treat," I'll get into the creative mode and "do" some art work of some kind. Guilt free! On the other hand, some of my best creative work has come when things are piling up and begging to be done! Thankfully, I have a wonderful husband who never complains, because he knows before long, the house will be tidied up. He even helps by running the vac. Hey, I think he's a keeper---well after 18 years, I'd say so! Love that man! Now, about those chocolates...Hmmm. TinkerTwin

Let me know if someone discovers a secret weapon against the dreaded "P". Some days nothing less than a stick of dynamite would blast me out of bed...

There are days I just have to vegetate, Lin.
Been there; done that.
Got dynamite? Share it with a procrastinator.

Do vitamins work ? Does bribery work ? Incentives ? Bananas ?
Bananas with dynamite ?

Bananas...now you're talking food...always a good motivator at the CCS Zoo.

Unlimited bananas and a million bucks, now THAT'S motivation

personally I will have my bananas dipped in chocolate. I will just stick the bannana in a cup of melted chocolate, like a swizzle stick. If I am feeling playful I will add a tiny paper umbrella. By the time I finish drinking the chocolate and eating the banana I will have enough of a sugar buzz that I can get things done while procrastinating.

It is not as weird as it sounds. It was an idea that popped out of my MP's...Did I mention earlier that MP's can be dangerous?
