Friday, I picked up Anne at the airport. Nancy and John had arrived earlier in the day and checked into their timeshare. Clara had arrived a few days earlier. We all met up with Nancy & her husband John and member Shannon Hilburn and her family for dinner Friday evening in San Antonio.
Saturday we all went to the Fiesta Arts Fair in the early part of the day and later Saturday Evening we went to A Taste of New Orleans and man was it crowded and not what I'd expected so we left early and met up again for dinner.
Sunday Anne & Clara hung out at the house while James and I went to church (I think Nancy and John went to visit some missions?) but later everyone met at our place including some other family and friends for our Party/BBQ Sunday Evening
Monday we met at the River Walk and did a boat tour and had lunch. Nancy & John visited the Alamo and decided to stay for the Floatella parde on the River Walk in the evening. The rest of us, Anne, Clara, Shannon, my daughter and member of CCS Leilani Lukehart and Elizabeth Guinn (a friend of mine) met back at my place for some creative workshops Monday Evening.
Malinda facilitated mixed media collage with circles and squares and acrylics on canvas board
Clara taught us how to make duct tape flowers on ink pens
Tuesday Anne & I and a close friend of mine named Elaine went to the San Antonio Zoo and met up with Nancy and John there. We went to the Japanese Tea Gardens after that and then went home for a rest. (Anne decided to keep resting for the rest of the day :-)
Tuesday evening Jamesiepoo, Clara, & I met Nancy and John for NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) It was a very long fun day!
Wednesday early morning Clara and I took Anne to the airport :-( Nancy and John went to the beach ;-)
Thursday Nancy & John came over to "hang out" ;-] Nancy & I went 4 wheeling a little bit, John & James went to our old place to feed the gator (marshmallows :-) I planned on doing some art projects with Nancy at this time but Clara was making the most delicious Margaritas and well... ;-/ I even had Leilani take a video interview of Nancy and myself but after viewing it, well let's just say after I edit it, it will be a few photographs ... teeheehee
Friday my daughter Leilani and I took Clara to the airport :-(
and then I rested for the whole rest of the day!
Please visit this link for more photos as right now my internet is being too slow to post them each individually but I can post a whole album in a few minutes on fb

Comment by Dan Goodwin on May 11, 2012 at 18:59 Oh and Jules re Photobucket, do you mean can you import into CCS via Photobucket? If that's what you meant, then no, Flickr is the big boy of photo sites, so I guess that's why they (Ning) chose only to offer integration with them. If anything, I would imagine the now Google owned Picasa would be next in line to challenge Flickr's lead status, though it's terribly poor as a user interface in comparison to the friendly Flickr.
Comment by Dan Goodwin on May 11, 2012 at 18:55 Jules, I agree re the Facebook Like. I detest it! But, Google+ has +1, which is in some ways similar, and I actually think that's very clever and use it a lot. It's a way of giving someone's comment or site or post a nod of acknowledgment, without adding to the conv if you haven't nothing much to add.
Comment by Dan Goodwin on May 11, 2012 at 18:54 Malinda, yes it makes sense. If the option isn't there in iPhoto, as it is for FB and Flickr, there's not much I can do to put it there though. Those two, plus Twitter and Google+ are the most used sites for such shortcuts, and from how you're described it, it seems they're already built into iPhoto, not an additional app or plug in afterwards.
I wonder if you are trying to upload huge photos to CCS and that's why they're taking so long. Maybe try a couple after reducing as per Nancy's great tip, and see if it helps?
Comment by Dan Goodwin on May 11, 2012 at 18:50 Nancy, great tip. I would suggest that most of us don't even need to have our cameras set to much beyond 3 or 5MP for everyday use, snapshots and so on. Even when we do use a higher res of 8, 10, 12MP or beyond, like you say, we have the option to reduce them before we upload to CCS, or anywhere else online.
Following your Preview tip, you can do multiple photos at a time. Select all the ones you want to open, then open, and they will open in one window, with the thumbnails down the right hand side. Then you can select multiple thumbnails, Tools > Adjust size, as you said. As long as the photos are the same size and dimensions, it'll change all those selected in one go.
Comment by Malinda Neisess Brymer on May 11, 2012 at 17:18 Jules, I have iphoto on my mac computer
Comment by Jules on May 11, 2012 at 17:10 Dan- do you suppose photobucket would work as easily as flickr?
And, as an aside- I kind of dislike the like button in discussions. I think it gets to easy to hit like and not add words to the discussion. One comment with 50 likes and no counter-comment is a dull conversation IMHO
Comment by Jules on May 11, 2012 at 17:05 So you do have the additional iphoto app- not the one that comes with the phone?
Comment by Malinda Neisess Brymer on May 11, 2012 at 16:05 well i wasn't meaning to make it so albums could be uploaded from fb but so that there would be a button on my imac iphoto like the fb button so that i could upload them to ning???
but i will look into getting a flikr account because that is an option on my iphoto
also only the folders i publish as fb albums automatically add them to fb
i also have folders in my iphoto that i do not publish to fb and so those dont automatically upload to fb, i first have to put the pic in a fb published photo album on my iphoto then that addition will automatically add in the fb album
does that make sense?
i'm just wanting to give you as much info as possible so that IF you can make it happen for ccs i think it would be awesome
Comment by Nancy on May 11, 2012 at 16:04 Another comment re" the photo issue.
Move the photos onto your computer desktop .... as a jpg open it in Preview and chose the tools option. Under the tools you will see an adjust size option. Go into that and reduce the size of the file to something under 1000 pixels and change the resolution to 150 or less, leaving the scale proportionally and the resample image checked.
This will result in a much smaller file size and a much quicker transfer onto CCS or anywhere else.
