Self-Care 11 Replies

(officearrow.com) This could be called pampering yourself or just general grooming beyond the basics. I'm not really high-maintenance, more medium-maintenance. There are things I just don't do anym…

Interesting Antonym You Have There.... 20 Replies

I find one of the dictionary's antonyms above very interesting: "impoverishment". Traditionally, we think of inactivity as a sure path to poverty. Many call it slothfulness or laziness. But this list…

It's so funny but I was just thinking about this very subject this morning! I am currently working 2 jobs, studying for a BA in English Lit part time, have a sick dog, no money, and all I want is for the world to stop! But I know it can't, but I can slow myself down and breathe.... I go for walks in the morning, when the sun hasn't even come up yet, and try to visualise my day. On the days that I sleep in that hour, I pay for it with extra stress. My daily walk is my meditation, a connection to myself. We can't get off of this crazy train we call life, but it helps when we can slow things down a little...

Thanks for this group! It's a great idea, and the name is perfect. I live in New York and it's constant stress, therefore I'm constantly looking to de-stress and this cycle makes me very unproductive -- which then adds to the stress :) I know I'm going to love focusing on recharging my batteries and just leading my life from a core sense of focus rather than the frantic energy which surrounds me.

I agree, Jane & Robyn!
My fave time to go to the beach is in late winter, when I can walk and think and breathe in solitude.

Jane, apparently there are positive ions wherever there is water...even your shower. I must say being near the sea is the best place to feel cleansed and energised.

going to the sea is always a great way for me to energise and clear my head... its the sounds and the "bigness" of the vista. they say that there is a great amount of positive ions by the sea - and that is what does it i think. Its impossible not to feel good and energised there...

Hoping to recharche my battery in Germany next week, I have been there before, so I know it is a relaxing place and I have had some nice creative moments in the past,

Love and hugs, Rita

I like to sit outside just before dawn listening to the birds wake up and watching the sun rise. A walk at that time of the day is also pretty energizing. Spending quiet time with nature especially next to water, either alone or with my family recharges my battery.

That was quick work, Anne! When you put your mind to something.....
Congratulations on starting this new group. I think it's going to be great.

I reenergize myself by lying down and emptying my mind. I also like meditation, going for a walk or sitting quietly until energy returns.
