RE-GIFTING OUR TREASURES

Members: 26
Latest Activity: Sep 20

I have so many things in my cupboard that I'll never use, and know so many wonderful people here at CCS who will and/or want them! My goal this year is to re-gift my treasures to others so that these gifts can be appreciated with new eyes.

Starting next week, I'll be posting "baggies" of gifts. If you're the first person to respond to my post, you'll get a "baggie" in the mail! In order to keep my costs down, they won't be large assortments. My wish is to be able to spread the joy to as many of you as I can.

I'll start posting "baggies" on Monday, Januray 12, 2009. Hopefully, this discussion will encourage others to begin the joy of re-gifting their extra treasures, as well. We'll see how it goes!

Mary, I don't mean to bother you. So when you are in the mood maybe you can let me know how to do this re-gifting thing! Take care of you!! Lisa

WE LOVE YOU MARY!
I hope that was loud enough :-)

Mary, It's so good to hear you. Please don't feel like you need to jump in, but know that we are here and care about you and are just happy to know you are there. The re-gifting group can wait so don't worry about that. Just pop in now and again so we know you're still kickin' eh?
We look forward to your full return. Hey, I saw Robins in my back yard yesterday, so can Spring be far behind? : )
Warm Hugs, Valerie

We're just happy that you are OK (relatively speaking!) and not in the hospital or worse! SAD is a very nasty thing, so I can certainly understand not wanting to do anything taxing. So just do what you feel like- haiku is fun - and the rest will take care of itself, including us! We'll be here when you want to get back in the CCS swing, dear Neighbor!

Love and hugs and chicken soup,
Lin

Hi All, It's about time I checked in...although I've been lurking, just not participating. I'm feeling better -- still very congested, however, and am currently experiencing some severe hearing loss due to it. I'm frustrated, but able to "behave normally" for a few hours at a time!

Thank you Jules, Lin and Valerie for your emails. Lin, I did not know you called me...I'll go check on that.

What I'm experiencing right now is some sort of depression, perhaps SAD (that wouldn't surprise me). It's been a long, tough winter so far. My motivation is very low, and the thought of even going up to my playroom to look for things I no longer need/want is overwhelming. So please be patient with me. I'm a bit embarrassed by it all, but hope you'll give me another chance when I'm ready.

My CCS friends are very important to me. I was wondering today why I'm not feeling like participating here right now. Not because of any of you, just because of me. So I decided that I'm just going to admit I can't do THIS (Re-Gifting) thing right now and focus on participating in maybe one discussion only for awhile. I'm thinking about the Haiku group, as I've been enjoying reading what people are doing there.

So you'll see me around, but not like before - not for awhile. Remember, it's about me and not about you. Every day the sun stays in the sky a few minutes longer, and that is what is keeping me going. I've experienced SAD before, but not to this extent. My doc is on top of it and she is great. Plus, I have a wonderful support system in Warren, Jonathan and a couple of friends who live close by. I am missing my family in Colorado fiercely - so badly that even calling them makes me just want to go to bed. So I don't call...

I'm not telling you this so you'll worry about me! I'm telling you this because I TRUST you and want you to think happy, positive thoughts for me and keep reminding me what a wonderful community I've found here at CCS and how good it is for me. I know all that, I just need to hear it really LOUD right now (see above note about hearing loss)!!

My love to each and every one of you. Now let's go write a haiku!

XO
Mary

Hi there all ,I have had a great time re gifting my treasures, many of them were books, which my husband took down to our local second hand book store, and he gave me $5o for them-what a bonus!

I guess that isn't really gifting as such, as I got something back, but believe me I worried and contemplated over every book I got rid of, self help books, bibles, fiction-it wasn't easy for this bookaholic!

Looking around my computer room full of books , and the other 2 large book cases I have in the house, it feels just SO good, so uncluttered, and someone else will have the pleasure of a good read. A real salve for the soul :-)

Also sorting out my wardrobe, so much stuff in there I haven't worn in years-this is going to girl friends or the op shop, and with everything I discard, my life choices seem so much simpler-it's amazing. and so much easier to know what to wear each day-now I have only things that actually fit me, but I do have to admit I have put on 3 kilo since the cruise and quitting smokes-yep, been off them for 5 weeks now, so John and I are opening a new joint bank account and putting the money we are saving on cigs into it, so we can afford another holiday, maybe a cruise or New Zealand, next year.

Life is good!

I called her cell phone last night and left a message but haven't heard back yet. I am worried about her.

Has anyone heard from Mary? I PM'd her about a week ago but didn't hear back. She's been sick a very long time.

Sounds like a cool idea!! I am in a spot when God only knows when I will have a dent into getting my stuff in order. I am so sure that I too have some items I will never use! Just need to find them. Long, long story to why or sorta why my organization skills have out of wack! Guess what though I never give up. Keep piling, sorting, tossing and giving! I have a TON of cute cool clothes I wish I could share!

Sounds like you have been super sick. Are you getting better. I hope so. Sending you healthy vibes right NOW!!!! HOPE YOU GET THEM. Lisa as in lisalives!
