Ninety-five percent of your body's serotonin, or "happy-mood chemical," is produced in the gut nerve cells.

I started watching a show called "You Are What You Eat" on BBC America. I think Gillian McKeith, the expert on the show, is mean, but her method of weight loss has inspired me to change my eating habits. She encourages the participants to buy fresh foods and stay away from pre-packaged meals, fast food, and any thing high in sugar and salt. Exercise is another big part. Even though I don't care for her drill sergent approach (she's really mean when someone strays) what is inspiring is the results. Most people who participate lose 20 pounds during the 8 week program. I encourage everyone in this group to watch a few episodes. You'll be amazed.

I feel like society puts far too much pressure on being "thin" rather than healthy. I have found that listening to my body and being mindful of what I consume on a daily basis has served me well. I feel that we should all listen to our innermost souls and "voices" that speak to us regarding our well-being rather than following the sheep herds that society attempts to breed.

Someone was talking about being unable to gain weight. I don't know why I got this in google ads, but it looks good:
