Jules, I'm sure that Julia means other ways of communicating with friends as well. I also do sandwich emails to friends telling them about my creative pursuits.

I tried just telling my BF...but he really does not get it at all...does not understand my creative urge. He knows creativity is a part of me, but just does not understand creative challenges, pursuits or triumphs. when I tell him I just don't feel that extra umph I feel when I tell a creative friend...So I bypass him all together and get a hold of a creative friend who does understand.

Yes Ang...it did make me laugh -both of them did- I thought I mentioned that, but I must have forgotten...oopsy-doopsy

I have to go tie up the lose ends on the collage gift- (it needs a hanging devise on the back) the finishing touches that I tend to put off. We leave tomorrow afternoon. The critic is momentarily silent -I actually feel good about it...I know whoever draws it will be the right person for it- it always seems to work that way at these retreats.

Thanks for the good wishes Susan. I just got back- I am very tired, but we had a wonderful time! We made dolls in one workshop- I will post a pic after I settle in a while.

Does Julia happen to discuss more on this topic? I get confused about pride...I know that too much can be dangerous for me...and not enough can also be dangerous. Sometimes I have a hard time distinguishing healthy pride from ego, boastful pride...you know what I mean?

Jules, I'm so glad you had a great time on your retreat. I would love to have the confidence to do a retreat with a group. I look forward to the doll pics when you are able.
i think Julia was meaning to write a list of things you have done in your life that you are pleased with rather than ego driven pride. I think healthy pride has a nice heart felt warmth to it whereas ego pride is boastful and pompous and showing off.
