PASSION...task: Make a valentine to one of your past great loves

oh boy oh boy oh BOY...I did NOT want to do this. I even decided..ahh I'm not going to do this. Then the nagging guides thumped me a good one. Just a few days ago I had mentioned my last 'love' to my friend and she tried to point out some of the good things in the relationship and I just shut her down. I've given away, thrown away or burned every single physical thing from that relationship. I did NOT want to revisit it to pull out our shared moments. So I brooded for a good hour and then I pulled out my notebook. Geeesh..make a valentine. Well, fine. I just grabbed a piece of notebook paper and a black pen. That would be good enough. So, I went back and made a list of things I received...new experiences that I probably wouldn't have had. I couldn't list things given to me because after 3 years what he gave me worth saving wouldn't fill a shoebox. I GRUDGINGLY did come up with experiences. Staying in a Yurt in Oregon, Being a blackjack dealer on a cruiseship, Playing and singing in a band, Golfing, tasting my first Mead, writing dozens of skits..so yeah..I suppose I got something out of it. But he's STILL A JERK !!!

PASSION...task: Valentine to your present
Make a valentine to yourself. For this task, use your imagination in support of your own personality. Using collage or simply beautiful tidbits of lace, ribbons and frippery, make a collage that honors what is most lovable to you and in you.

I kinda struggled with this. I made a very very very VERY plain valentine with just the pictures of what I love and who loves me and called it done. Then I went to post it and I typed the above. There were no tidbits of lace, ribbons or frippery. So I pouted. I do that often and well. I didn't WANNNNAAAAA...so, after my fit my inner child settled down and I pulled out some stuff and fancied it up a bit. I got soooo frustrated because that back red ribbon just wouldn't stay but oh well. It's done.

Okay, that red ribbon just made me nuts so when I got up today I went back and sewed it on. I thought about hot glue but my fingertips were not in favor of that. They haven't recovered from the last time I used the hot glue gun.

I remember before I was really in tune with my guides....back in my 20s...and the one question they kept asking me again and again was ...what would you do for others that you wouldn't do for yourself...the answer was a LOT of things...and no WAY would I give a valentine to someone with ribbon coming undone. I kinda grumbled the entire time I sewed but then it felt good too. I kept thinking about that question that the guides plagued me with for years. I am worth the extra time to make me a nice valentine. I doubt I'll ever make me another one so this one should be good. The red ribbon border still isn't neat and tidy but it is still much better. At least it isn't coming undone.
