I just started the Artist's Way this week. It may take me a while to get through the book. If anyone wants to comment here they can. I will post my progress here and maybe a few questions.

The first week in the book is about rediscovering our sense of Safety. One of the exercises is to write down 5 Imaginary Lives, alternate lives we'd like to have. Since I feel particularly safe on CCS I'll tell you about one of my Imaginary Lives. I just wrote these down quickly, off the top of my head. One of my Imaginary Lives is that of the Psychic. We were supposed to do one thing related to one of our Imaginary Lives this week. I decided to call one of my friends, a part-time phone Psychic. I explained to her about the Artist's Way. She said she uses Tarot Cards, but the most important thing is to get out of her life issues/energy and absorb the other person's energy field. She emphasized that she is concerned with her clients current life and how that is going. She doesn't predict the future. Apparently, the most common question these days is about finances, not surprising. It was all very interesting. Does anyone else have any Imaginary Lives they'd like to share?

I find it worrisome that I can't name any imaginairy lives. I read this and started to think. That was the problem, I guess.
When thinking started logic took over and built a huge wall between this question and my imagination- because I came up with nothing. So I am not going to think about it anymore today...and see what pops up in my morning pages...those get written before logic is awake. LOL

My imaginary lives are many. I get vibes about them often as if I have definitely lived them. I have been a prairie settler, an American indian, a monk, a Chinese market gardener, I have lived in Rome and ENgland but don't know as whom.

i always say i'd like to be a violinist in an orchestra, unfortunately I can't even sing in tune!!!! Or a lawyer, that would be cool, fighting injustice.

Angie, I wonder if you have some latent talents in those areas, maybe you don't even know about. Hmmmm!

Thank you, Susan! Just thought I needed my own discussion for this book.

Hi Anne ~

It's great that you're starting this journey. I'm working with Susan with Walking in this World, so I can't see myself doing both journeys at once! But I will certainly check in, see how you're progressing, and maybe participate in some discussion.

Great to read that you're doing The Artist's Way. It has made a big difference in my life in more ways than one and I think doing morning pages is a great tool for me, in helping me see my true self objectively. Your psychic friend's advice is good ... putting ego aside and having empathy is a big part of allowing our intuitive and psychic abilities to manifest ... and I'm a firm believer that we all have these abilities to develop if we wish.
