FW..C2..claustrophobia..Julia says "artist's love drama and when we do not create it on the page or on stage. we often create it in our lives". Is this true for you. I know I sometimes crave the drama of my youth and then again not!

hi susan - loved this one! I think its absolutely true... artists (in all their creative forms) are very emotional and expressive people and that is why they have this inherent desire to express themselves through their art.

When the imagination or the inspiration gives up or becomes temporarily disabled i think many turn to creating drama in their lives - this in turn then feeds the art!

Artists are notoriously difficult to live with.... hmmm... i wonder how many of us live alone lol!! xx

Jane , Great to see you here and to read your comments.
I am notoriously hard to live with. I just love my own space and not to be bothered. I rarely have phone calls and rarely make them and all my friends know not to drop in but to ring me first or make an appointment ahead of time which most of them do. I am dreadful but my friends cope.

I have been asking questions for another group and thought I may as well share them here as well as people enjoyed doing WITW with me and VOG. SO here I am again.

Hi Susan. I'm not reading this book, so I hope I'm not "cheating" by posting here. It's just that so many of your book discussion bring up interesting points!

I love what Jane said:

>>artists (in all their creative forms) are very emotional and expressive people and that is why they have this inherent desire to express themselves through their art.<<

I think I'm finally learning to keep the drama in the artwork, lol, though this has not always been so. That being said, I experience most things pretty intensely, so adding additional drama to my life hasn't paid off for me in the past...yikes!

Yeah...I'm pretty sure that the reason my marriage works so well is that Husband is NOT an artist. Based on my own relationship experiences, I'm not sure a relationship can handle two artists!

Wendy,
I'm glad you are joining me as I read Finding water. i ask questions each day that can be explored by anyone whether you read the book or not. I think you found this with WITH and VOG. I just read a bit each day and enjoy others input like yours.

Finding water...chapter 2...inhabiting the present....Julia receives a writing package from her sister that has her reminiscing about the past. What in you life triggers you to think of the past...letters, diaries, a movie, music? I find all these things remind me of my past. How do they make you feel? Do you have mostly good memories or sad?

Susan, I am not doing your book reading, but this comment caught my eye on the home page. It is rather amazing to me what triggers a memory. It can be anything. I actually wrote about this somewhere recently. Odd things are memory triggers, one never knows what they are going to be. And the memories are random too, I have started to try to write the memories down in a journal or on my blogs, just because it amazes me how this happens.

Carol, Fascinated to read about your memory book. i am also doing the same gathering memories of my life adventures.
You don't have to be reading Finding water to join me here. I am asking questions each day that can be answered or explored whether you read the book or not. You are always welcome to join in when you are inspired.
I am taking your bag on a little adventure again today. it has been on so many adventures.

LIVING IN THE PRESENT.....Many people advocate living in the present. Do you live much in the present or often in the past or future. What are the benefits to you of living in the present? How does it help you creatively?
