I'll post my progress in reading Vein Of Gold here

General Meaning: What is traditionally known as the Temperance card is a reference to the Soul. Classically female, she is mixing up a blend of subtle energies for the evolution of the personality. One key to interpreting this card can be found in its title, a play on the process of tempering metals in a forge.

Metals must undergo extremes of temperature, folding and pounding, but the end product is infinitely superior to impure ore mined from the earth. In this image, the soul volunteers the ego for a cleansing and healing experience which may turn the personality inside-out, but which brings out the gold hidden within the heart. (This card is entitled "Art" in the Crowley deck.)

I appreciate your appreciation, but all I did was start the group ... Susan and everyone else who joined have expressed a lot of interest and enthusiasm for doing Vein of Gold, and we'll all be co-creators of the group ... it couldn't happen without participation, so Thank YOU :)

There is certainly no lack of enthusiasm for the group. There are lots of starters and more to come as we progress. Thanks for setting it up Barbara and you will be doing the weekly discussions. Can't wait to start.

Some people are saying they can't wait to start and others seem to have started already? Can't anyone just begin once they have they book(s)?

Yes, anyone can start reading and doing at any time ... some who don't even have the book yet, have started writing Morning Pages for the first time. In the individual discussions, you can go at your own pace.

January 6, 2009 ... Breakthrough! I've gotten three whole pages written this morning for my Morning Pages. I've been writing them for two years, rather sporadically at times ... and usually I've not had the persistence to get beyond a page and a half, but yesterday I got two pages done, and today, THREE. In doing so, I felt my mind become clearer, and my heart felt lighter and open :) HOORAY!

Congrats. That is totally awesome. What a way to start the New Year. Baby steps. You know Elle? I believe mentioned that after 2 and a half pages you go into a zone, I'd never heard that but sounded intriguing so I was paying attention to that to see what would happen and yep I seemed to fly into another universe around page 3 and from there some poetry took over which to me seemed out there but still wow. So I took those snippets of poetry and rewrote them into a journal. Usually I tear up or burn the MP's, not this time. So I think that doing morning pages sets you in the zone so you can then paint or do poems as I do. Never took the pages this seriously before and I've been doing them a long time. Usually they were blah blah yakkety yak kind of stuff. It will be fun to see how your creativity kicks off from here now too.

Very Kewl, Bev about the poetry :) Yes, my determination to make it to three pages was due to Elle's comment, also! I made it much more easily this morning (the first time, my hand started hurting, but I kept going) and this morning I shaved fifteen minutes off my time. Took me two hours the first time, one hour and 45 minutes this morning. Woo Hoo!
