Journey Of Journals
Journey Of Journals...Welcome to Journey Of Journals - 7 Creative Journals each on a journey around the world.
The Plan: 7 creative CCS members will each join the group and be given a number from 1 to 7. We then each buy a journal, nothing too large or bulky because they're going travelling! About A5 size (148 X 210mm) is ideal, with 25-50 pages.
We each name our journal and decorate the cover if we so wish, as well as filling the first 3 pages with some unique creative expression. You can write, colour, stick stuff in, as long as it's secured in the journal it's completely up to you. You can start a theme for the journal too if you want to.
Then, we each pop our journal in a Jiffy bag and send it on to the next number artist in the group. At this point we each start a forum discussion here in the group headed something like "Dan's Journal - No 1" and post that we've sent it off. No pics though please - it'll spoil it for the next person to receive the journal.
When we receive the next journal, we admire the creativity of the previous person, then again fill 3 pages ourselves before packaging up and sending on again. And add a reply to that journal's discussion to say it's been sent on.
7 journals later, we all have our original journal back, filled with the artwork of 7 creative artists from around the world!
The Timescale: The project starts as soon as 7 people have joined the group. Aim to have your journal bought, decorated, 3 pages filled and sent on by Saturday Jan 19th 2008.
Bear in mind that packages from the US to Europe for example may take 10 days or more, and other countries maybe longer. Aim to have each journal no longer than a week or so before sending on.
And that's about it!

One final thing - The first 7 to join will be the artists involved in the Journey Of Journals, so please only join if you are committed and able to creating and posting throughout the duration of the project.

There is some logic to the order as the Dan and Jane are in the UK, Rita's in Holland and the rest are in the US, so it means only two trips across the Atlantic for each journal!
Well done to all, get those journals, pick your theme and start creating!

as one of the original 7 people involved i can confirm it was a great project and one i really enjoyed - although at times it began to feel a little pressured.
sadly - i dont think all of the journals made it back home to their owners... which is a great shame - I was lucky to get mine back and i loved all the contributions....
perhaps another will start up one day - it takes quite a bit of organisation for someone...
