If you are like me, then I feel sorry for you - but seriously -
if you are creative but go into long dry spells of non-creativity
and are wondering why - perhaps, the answer lies in the fact
that you have lost your VISION
you know that thing that gives you a direction to move in.

I have created this place to discuss creative vision and to be a place where you can
present shifts in your creative vision ( a sort of VISION Testing Place)
Hopefully it is not quite like the DMV - where you get a god-awful picture of yourself.

Here I hope you get a clearer picture of who you are - at least creatively.

And yes, I am using this discussion to test out just what my creative vision is
(besides spontaneous non-connected bursts of creativity).

I hope you enjoy this and play here all you want.

Love and Stuff,
Frank

I posted the picture Christi was excited about...Chad was equally happy. I was giving them the atc magnet I have but Chad said "Oh no. I am going to frame this". Christi picked a nice husband :-)
Barb- I told you about it simply because I have felt what you said earlier..."I have created stuff but it never has meant much to anyone else." So often I give some art or hand made item to a relative or friend who just do not seem to understand...they just kind of say 'oh. thanks' to conceal their disappointment that it is not a gift card (the size can be a fooler that way LOL )
I had just about given up on the idea of giving art to my kin...then Christi and Chad exploded onto the scene. In fact, I most likely would have gotten a flat 'oh thank you' with an impersonal gift card when it came to them.
So my motive for mentioning it was to let you know that there are people out there that your art means a great deal to...I have some things from Bodicious that I would not part with- ever.
Anyway- I put the pic into my album
here in case you miss it on the main page. It is from a photo she took of Chad and her oldest boy Camden on Camden's Birthday Zoo trip. Oh yeah..When Camden saw it he said "There's my backpack!" :-)

Some people are also just not very good at receiving gifts! I did two ATC cards of bluebells for my mother-in-law and framed them with her favourite verse and a photo of the kids and some blue things, 'cos she loves blue, and she was really chuffed with it - no great art, but at least now she knows (hopefully) that I appreciate her. I couldn't work with Ian though, I wanted to stain the frame blue, he said "I'll do that"; 3 months later it was still laid out on the lounge table, waiting for its next coat. In the end, I did it myself two/one day 'fore we went on holiday to see them. Anyhows, when she opened it, it was a folding frame, one tiny bit of varnish must have been sticky when I'd closed it up, and nicked a little bare patch. Nothing to bother about. Could have been worse. I agree with Leonard Cohen: "There is fault (?) in everything, that's how the light get's in". Not fault can't remember the exact word.

Yes, you're both right. It doesn't make sense to dwell on the lukewarm reactions. It's a sure way to give up trying, and it is not what really matters in creating art. The joy of the process is what's important! I'm so glad your ATC gifts were appreciated, Jules and Angie :) Thanks for your comments!

Barb, Did someone give you a negative reaction about your art?
(Translation = " Do I need to hurt somebody?" )

Ha ha ... here come Deej with a big 'ol can o' whoopass! No, I was just having a little pity party ... all's well. Just feeling around for that creative vision ... I know I'll come across it eventually :)

OK...As long as no one's bothering you...
I'm just a little bit protective... ;-)

Speaking of "vision", what was your last project, Barb?
A painting? Drawing? 3-D?
Just wondering...
Well, so far haven't had a dry spell and I hope to keep it that way ;) Everything around me inspires me.
The sky is full of so much, the sun , the moon, trees, everything. People, the times, something someone
says......EVERYTHING! Like love, it can come all at once or whisper from a distance....
