My favorite poem! "Just made me shudder, but in a good way" -- expresses the feeling very well.

Bev, I'm glad you are having so much fun putting rinses in your hair. I have never taken a lot of interest in my hair over the years. When it was long I used to like putting beads through it and doing plaits and twists and things. Now it is short and just there.

As a hairdresser I was and am very passionate about using All natural products with no animal testing (also a BIGTIME lover of animals; especially CATS).. okay so something you may not have heard of.. ASH!!! I use it in place of bleach to highlight the hair naturally.. When MT. St Helens blew here in Wa state where I live we found out that Ash combined with heat lightens hair dramatically as almost all of the people that parished on the Mountain had white hair.. The Ash you would purchase in a beauty supply store smells like baby powder and it is very conditioning on the hair.. it lightens it beautifully and makes a for a very natural looking highlighting effect.. whatever color hair you start with.. The process does take longer than a normal bleach process but in the end your hair is still in great shape.. Try it!

Wow, that's interesting Karitiger! How long does it need to stay on the hair?

Wow! I'm interested in this, too.
I wonder if wood ash does this or only volcanic ash?

Have to be careful with wood ash though- isn't that what they make lye out of?

Thanks for this awesome poem, Bev. I happen to be "entertaining" a lot of dark thoughts lately, and I'd be a lot better off if I just let them be there- instead of trying to chase them away. I think it;'s a lot more painful to fight them off, suppress them. In fact, I know it is.

Thank you for helping me...

You can write those dark thoughts, Carol ... you don't have to share them with anyone.

and you can even set fire to them.

Thank you Barb! I felt better yesterday, but a little out of sorts for some reason. Today is even better :-). Glad to know I'm not the only one who forgets to take it slow!
