Today is a Monday - so that means back to adult day.
Or does it ? I wrote some poems in a break but my inner child thinks some are too heavy.
He wants to play more and let the serious stuff go where it will.
So today, this afternoon, I will be playful - I'll let you know what happens later.

Frank ~ I hope you can let yourself play today, even tho it's a Monday.

I feel very adult today, but I'm taking some "in-between" times to have fun, write a poem, and surf some of the 101 Best Websites for Writers listed in Writer's Digest this month!!

Let that kid play!!

Looking forward to seeing how playful you will be Frank.
Today my inner child is going to the travel agent to see about a trip to Japan that will take me ages to save up for as an adult. i am also going to the video store to get a video out for today.

I have been learning in my life at the moment about how my inner child has a wonderful connection to the Divine and is aware of dreams that will come true far off into the future. I am becoming aware that some of my dreams that I think are day dreams are actually dreams that can and will come true in the future. I am so intrigued.

Although my inner child, who is still recovering from child abuse, wants to raise awareness (April is National Poetry month AND Child Abuse Prevention Month BTW) she got a little bummed out when I wrote this blog post with an awareness-raising poem in it.

Then, I clicked on this YouTube video and she got really happy again. Laughed, cried with relief, then got up and started dancing and singing!

Oh, I love that inner child of mine! I sent her an e-card with pix of kittens and puppies on it from Blue Mountain today. When was the last time (if ever?) that you sent yourself an e-card, just for your inner child? ;)

Aaawww! Thanks! Now, go on over and send your inner child a cute e-card. You know you wanna!

Yes, I think that counts! Just make sure to tack it up somewhere where you AND your inner child can look at it and smile.

Thanks for adding the Child Abuse Prevention Month to the discussion. Can I join that group?

Child Abuse is one of my biggest social concerns...I was abused in terrifying ways emotionally, as a kid, but compared to the child abuse stories of others...I have to count my blessings...

It hurts me terribly when I see a child (or anyone) being abused in anyway...When I was a kid, people just pretended that child abuse did not exist...not in their homes, not in their neighbor's homes, not in their families, not in schools...

I am so glad there is so much more acknowledgement, awareness, and groups dedicated to helping to break the cycle of abuse that seems to become a generational abberation.

My brother and I, both severely abused, have been the breakers of that cycle in our lives...We continue to help the mentally ill, many of whom were abused as children in the most horrible of circumstances!!! I applaud you for bringing the child abuse issue to the fore at CCS...

Last night I watched this very upsetting movie, I didn't know it was going to be about the death of an abused child. (An American Murder) It was really well done, so I kept watching, but I went to bed feeling deeeply sad that such horrendous actions are still being carried out by humanity, to the most vulnerable of our flock...the children!!!

Balance the wants and needs of the inner child. Sounds like you do that, Mariaka.

I paint little cards that I give to myself or display in my studio. A nice personal touch to honor her.

Right now, I'm a little out of balance in the comfort food category--too many little chocolate Easter eggs! ;) I like your idea about the painted cards. Lovely!

Powerful poem, Marjaka (I like the name, too :) I'm grateful for people like you who are brave enough to speak of the unspeakable, helping all who have been down this road to come to terms with it and realize that thriving is possible for anyone.
