I had a dream last night that I was watching a family picnic and the mother told me to look up a website. Alas! I didn't write it down. Maybe my unconscious was trying to remind me of something.

Here's what I gleaned about picnics, Anne, see what applies:

Dream Dictionary Picnic: Dream Interpretations Dictionary - Picnic, park

Dream Interpretation Picnic, park

Although a dream of park or picnic seems likely to be a reference to relaxation and pleasure, your feelings about the dream and your emotions are very important. This dream may suggest that you are lacking some leisure time and need to take a break. It is also important to look for other symbols in the dream: what were you doing, who was with you. Having a pleasant time with a loved one foretells happiness in your marital life. Enjoying picnic alone means that you will be successful in your chosen field.

Thanks Lin!

I probably do need to do something fun. Must arrange a playdate!

I already put this in another conversation, but because I can't remember dreams- only one every ten years or so this one was kind of cool just because it was remembered.

It was after a mid-day nap, which may be why I remembered...that and the fact I am due to remember one for this decade. Only I have remembered the others in minute detail and this one was more vague

I was running through streets that were being bombed- air raid sirens and explosions everywhere...I ducked into this old fire escape tunnel (like those slides that were on old time school houses) so I'm running through this underground hallway. I ran past these mice...and had to stop running and go back to look. One was standing in a spot light with a top hat, cane and tux. He was crooning like Tony Bennett. Then a chorus line of mice in red frilly dresses and lace up shoes came out doing the can-can. I was standing there enjoying this, no longer running and all the war-ish noises just stopped. This was all I remembered, which is quite a bit for me.

I think the happy dancing mice were my CCS friends- (the crooning mouse in the spotlight was Dan) ...showing me how to stop running from the inner critic who tends to toss bombs at me.

Jules, do you have any penchants for writing children's books?
Your dream above and the rock dream you shared have great potential for that genre!

Recently I have read that some famous writer's got their ideas for stories from thier dreams!
Also some very creative inventors, scientists have gotten their ideas from dreams!
I will see if I can dig up where this info is about this and I will post it! Dabs

Jules, the bombs could be doubts you felt about some of your artistic works which your CCS friends showed you were groundless fears and something to be enjoyed instead...

That is what I think Lin...I was caught up in the nay-sayer boggie men. I found an article by Dan which caught my interest and came to CCS. Just like the singing mouse caught my attention and made me go back and look- that is when I saw the happy, cooperative dancing mice- who I relate to CCS'ers.
I think remembering this dream will be a good start for me in helping me to remember others.

That is true, Jules- you see that dreams can be useful things, giving us helpful information, not just confusing sometimes scary movies! Good interpretation!

Dern it all, I cannot remember anything of last nights dreams! I wonder if that has a significance in itself???

Dabs, I know I dreamed last night but I can't remember either. Sometimes all I remember is one thing- the other day it was that I dreamed of rice, which can be nourishment, or also that you need to focus on what is really important not on exterior trappings. Who knew??? I think sometimes a dream is just a memory dump of the days events so it may not register as something worth remembering.

Try staying in the same position as when you wake up for 5 minutes or so to see if that triggers a memory. Something about moving out of the position you slept in destroys the memory of the dream. Try to fix the dream in your mind before you move to write it down or better yet record it.

I do not know if that is significant or not since I rarely remember any...
Dabs, you asked Jules, do you have any penchants for writing children's books?
I thought once upon a time of writing a children's book- even had a title "Snow Rides On Purple Clouds". Had it worked out in my head but never put pen to paper to write or illustrate it. That was years ago... I will give reviving it some consideration.

Jules, what a great title for a children's book! Puts wonderful pictures in my head! Writing for children is wonderful and hard! (I wrote one!) I can also see the dancing mice! If you don't write them, can I steal your ideas? (I wouldn't really, but they are very good ideas!) Go for it! Children need wonderful pictures in their heads.
