A place to share insights on our nightly dreams to benefit our daily lives and enhance our creativity

Welcome to Dreamativity

As the 1944 Salvador Dali painting "Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bumblebee around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening" shows, the landscape of our nightly dreams can be a confusing and mystifying place sometimes. Here at Dreamativity, we can help one another sort out the jumbled images and actions and make some sense out of our dreams, then use them as the tools they are intended to be. Dream works goes back to the beginning of time, but only recently are they being restored to their place of honor as tools of change. Modern man had lost the fine art of interpretation possessed by his/her ancestors and is only now regaining it, with assists from Freud, Jung, and the experts like the Senoi tribe of Malaysia.

People are starting to understand that dreams are tools of integration and of change, when properly interpreted and directed. So that's what we are here for, to share information, our own dreams and interpretations, and perhaps direct our own dreams like little movies to bring about changes in our lives both on personal as well as artistic levels.

You will find a Dream Links Section posted- please use it only for posting links about dreams and dreaming, and reserve your comments for a separate post. This will make it easy for people to find information when they need it later on.

Let's do it!

Hi Lin

I didn't realise you started this group. Sorry about that. I thought it was Dan. Its a great idea and the mystery of dreams absorb so many people. I've read that certain archetypes appear commonly to people worldwide with only small differences relating to culture.

Regards
Deb

I like this idea...I love dreaming...it's an extention of life....how sad for those who say they can't remember dreams or worse...who say they DONT dream....I can't wait to read and catch up on what's going on here.

I just have to say, and I might as well say it here: The ideas and provocative subjects presented here continue to amaze me! It's like living in a world of imagination -- and everyone expects you to! This discussion, especially, is deep and thoughtful and "interpretive" -- and Lin's knowledge of where to find out how to interpret dreams is knockout!

Some days I wonder what I would be doing if it wasn't for CCS to inspire me to do what I want to do. Thanks to all of you!

Great idea, Lin!
I have thought for a while that if I could have such richly textured, colored, and detailed dreams as I do, that I should be able to access that for my writing or painting. Maybe I'll learn how now, sharing with you all. I just don't understand why I can't really fly, as it seems so very real in my dreams!
Sweet dreams,
Becca

Hi friends from near and far. I've been working my dreams for over two years now. I use the Jungian approach, where I take the dream as my own inner objects and aspects and see where that leads me. How about your folks?
I have read Jeremy Taylor's "Where People Fly and Water Runs Uphill" and have been to one of his workshops. He too uses the Jungian method.

Has anyone else read his works?

Thanks for the invite.
