Kewl. What do you do? Drop the used tea bag onto the paper, or squeeze it out? I do not drink hot tea, but it is about time for sun tea- so I will have tea bags soon...How do you start these?

Jules, this is where exploration comes in...The examples above look like a brewed tea bag was set on the paper, or dripped, or squeezed onto paper...
I would imagine that one could use the tea bag as a kind of "Brush" too!!! ...then, let dry, or not, and just toodle away!!! LOL!

The choice of papers should make things interesting to explore with also...

I hope to be doing some of these also...summer seems a good time for quick doodling...

You may be able to purchase cheap dollar store tea bags in all different flavors, which causes different shadings and tones of colors!!!Now think about that and what it would be like to squeeze a rose hips tea onto it all!....oh the possibilities inherent in the ordinary tea bag! LOL!

I have heard about sun tea...how is that made???

Toodles to you, from Dabsabag

Sun tea is merely tea bags in a clear glass jar- the lid holds the strings so the bags stay suspended- then placed in the sun until the water turns to tea...pour into a glass with some nice big ice cubes, put your feet up and relaxitate.

I know using tea bags will make new linen to look like antique linen...I think I will try with absorbent paper

Oooh! I have to try the sun tea, Jules! How long does it take to turn into tea???

Absorbent paper would be my first choice, but I will try others too...

I was thinking that t he papers could be cut into small ATC or Zendoodle sizes after the tea dries...

It does not take long...depends if it is a cloudless day, and what time you make it morning, noon or late afternoon. For a ball park time, 15 minutes to an hour- depending on how strong you want to be-(Sometimes in mid summer it almost turns instantly!)-you can sort of tell just by looking at what shade it is in the container...but taste tests are always a good excuse to pour some in a glass with some nice big ice cubes, put your feet up and relaxitate (have I mentioned that part before? LOL )

Sun tea is how I've always made iced tea ... gotta find me another big jar. It doesn't take long :)

Is there a difference in quality, taste, etc, from boiled, cooled off tea???

Reply to This

I think so Dabs. I can't explain what is the difference though. I want to say it is breezier...but I don't know if that word fits a drink?

I like it much better...but I am one who prefers warm meals and cold drinks as opposed to cold food and hot drinks

Reply to This

hmmm...Jules...that is an interesting personal dietary preference....I think in summer I like all cold meals and drinks. In winter I prefer warm meals and cold drinks too...today, pigged out on nice cool watermelon and had a cold bbq chicken with warm veggies...ok, so my preferences vary day to day...LOL!

Sun tea sounds like there is something special about it, over the boiling water kind...If I find an appropriate jar, this is something I will try this summer! Thanks for inspiring me to try something different! Love Dabseat

Okay, this looks like fun. Sorta like the smears from left over paint idea. I think I will try this on white card stock.
