Hi there fellow doodlers!
Something amazing happened today, I finally broke the ice with my zendoodles. For the first time I had the sense that my left brain was not controlling or censoring my hand much.
This morning I did four zendoodles before getting out of bed, and I numbered them because I think it shows how the shift happened as I went along. I definitely felt it!

For #1, I drew the main lines, and then just filled in. Those first lines controlled the rest of the process, with little room for surprises along the way. It bored me a bit, and it looks uninteresting to me.
#2, I started in the middle of the square, and let it grow outwards, with a more scribbly sketchy style. Much less cotrolled process, and more interesting.
#3, I was totally relaxed and it felt like a really pure drawing.
#4, totally relaxed again but spent some more time exploring the shapes and lines.

I want to make doodles every morning. Writing morning pages doesn´t work for me, but doodling might be a good alternative!

Heidi

P.S. Why are there Scientology ads all over this group? This is the Zentology cult.

Heidi how wonderful that you have decided to do morning doodles...I find morning pages doesn't work for me either...this is a terrific idea for a substitute! Love it!

Wow...wasn't it wonderful to get that shift, a personal insight like that so easily? Faster than meditation, isn't it? And more fun!

Thanks so much for describing your process, Heidi...I think I can learn something interesting by reading and looking at your morning doodles! Thank you for sharing!

Your first doodle is looks extremely unboring and exciting...like wonderful music!

Heidi, the one with the seed shapes, are pretty much where I have been exploring this week!...I did not post them though, because they all look so very similar...maybe I will post them and ask a question about what it might indicate when one turns out a group of very similar ones...

number three is mellow yummy...number four is absolutely powerfully musical and joyous!!!
The image really packs a visual punch!

Heidi keep up with these! I think you will keep benefitting from creating them!

Hugs from Dabs...
PS... interesting...those ads...They must be getting too much competition from Zentology these days..: )

Camille, thanks for your comments! How intriguing that your seeds keep insisting to be in your doodles...please post all of them.
I was getting frustrated that I didn´t seem to have the same experiences that you and the others described with your zendoodles. And then today, while doing #4 I felt that I was finally "getting it". A nice moment. So I did some more this afternoon, here they are:

You go girl! These are great and I love that you numbered the earlier ones so we could see where you felt the shift! I had that happen once then I sort of reverted to something else- but I think we should just all relax into it and let it happen as it will, just as you did. This one on the bottom right just blows me away!

Heidi...unbelievable! These are so fantastic! I love how you did the gradations in the second one and I adore the spirally third one tremendously! You are "getting it" very insightfully! Thank you for sharing...

Dabs, the second one was the most fun to do of all so far. I named it "The Queen and the Court Jester".
I am beginning to like the fine 0.1 mm tip and all the scribbling and shading you can do with it, unlike the solid black you get with a bigger tip. The drama of solid black and white is good, but the scribbling and crosshatching is more fun to do!

Well, Heidi, I can post the similar ones...two are so similar that they almost look like I copied them...but I didn't! I will let you know when I post them...

Heidi, I am so impressed with your Morning Doodles! For some reason, I can't even imagine lying in bed doing this...but knowing that someone does just impresses the heck out of me!

They are all so wonderfully fluent, with lots of motion and effervescence to them. Keep up this wonderful form of meditation, and thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Thanks Mary! I wasn´t lying down, though, I was sitting with plenty of pillows in the back and the duvet tucked around me.....mmhhh. And a mug of steaming hot coffee within reach. Drinking your morning coffee while lying down is such a mess;-)

This is a great way to start the day. Wakes your brain up but in a gentle way. For a while I did morning sudokus, which was also good, but doodling is more relaxing.

I hope you are having a good doodle routine that works for you, if you have a routine at all. "When the mood strikes" is perhaps the best routine one can have.

Gosh, Heidi, these have such a sensitive touch to them...as your pencil drawings do!! And they definitely have your authentic marks...totally elegant!
I think that out of all the Zendoodling yours are the most recognizeable as HEIDI!!! These delight me...everyone a special feast for the eyes! Hugs from Dabs
